Thanks you safed me from reading the book that really isn't the genre I usually read.
Author: born in 1954, attended a private English school. Set in 1990s, dystopian novel where clones used for the only purpose to prolong life of original human. Tommy - was bullied, eventually grew out of it. Kathy - another student in the school. Relationships issues. Ms Lucy - human guardian - explains that students can't aspire for their dreams. Veterans - training to be carers. They felt they saw the original Ruth - Ruth's 'possible'. Ruth and Kathy have some issues with one another in school. Ruth dies after second donation. Ms Emily - explained that deferral was just a rumour.

YOU GUYS GET EXAMS ABOUT THESE AWESOME BOOKS? Omg what school you go to?
“I half closed my eyes and imagined this was the spot where everything I'd ever lost since my childhood had washed up, and I was now standing here in front of it, and if I waited long enough, a tiny figure would appear on the horizon across the field and gradually get larger until I'd see it was Tommy, and he'd wave, and maybe even call.”
Thank you so much for being so clear and summarising in simple terms. Love your voice

Well -done!🎊
Seen this movie twice. I like aspects of it and love depressing films, but I can't help but feel like it could have done more to live up to its potential. I hope they try to do another film adaptation one day.

At 4:48 I could have sworn she said "students who are autistic and creative tend to get preferential treatment" but then I realized I'm American so she probably said "artistic."
