@HookedwithBernie do you know the weight of your rod? The big ones are already going south. The big ones are still in the Hudson up where I grew up right now, my friends have gotten 40+lb fish. I prefer lure over bait

Wow that last fish was a whale! Congrats. I’ve been catching schoolies on the fly on Monmouth county beaches but I might head up there soon if the conditions let me with the fly.

Thanks for watching Ali. But this lure is actually custom made, meaning it can’t be bought or found online. Only my local tackle shops supply it. If you look up “metal lip surface swimmer” on the web you can find very similar ones to mine.

Not a problem at all. I was thinking 30s or so. I wasn’t sure if maybe you had measured it off camera or something. I was there that night, but I was down around the corner over where you caught them on 27 April. I did get 1, 34 inch so I have to thank you for that!

@@HookedwithBernie We killed them the other night. My son and I got a dozen each all 34-44 inches. Probably had at least 20 others hooked. Guy next to use had a 50". Thanks for the video, you gave us the motivation to and know how to have a great trip!

You just work it real slow and creep it on the surface. Just kinda wiggles and sways on topwater. It floats. Action is unmatched. Freshwater is prob say it’s closest to a jitterbug type lure
