Never Doing This Again! Trying to Get Home With The EXCURSION ...AND A BRONCO!!
Trying to get home with the newly fixed Ford Excursion with a 6.0 powerstroke. BTW (It has 364k miles on it) I also need to stop in Georgia to pick up an old Bronco (with NO Engine) that I bought a few months ago. Needless to say the trip still had some issues and didn't go as planned.
Hey, My name is Tom. I don't know about you but I find myself wanting to DO everything myself. Wheather I should or not. I consider myself a Jack Of All Trades. Master of none. What you'll find here will be anything from building or fixing cars or trucks, building or remodeling projects and everything in between. I get myself into some pretty interesting situations.
I'd love it if you subscribed so we can stay in touch... You might even learn something. I know I will!
Thank you for watching!!

Definitely! Although I would have recognized you and the Excursion broken down anywhere and stopped to help 😂
Tom’s love of car projects is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I would have given up after 1 obstacle.
Back in my twenties and early thirties, I had two boyfriends(serial, not at the same time) over the years and we were always getting into adventures like yours. One car or another was breaking down and/or we/he were/was buying another that needed "work." Towing, pushing cars, trucks, and Jump Starting vehciles was a given. Watching you reminded me of those days and how glad I am to be watching on my computer rather than living it in real life! You are a pro though doing all that yourself!
Please sell this thing and be done! It’s making me nervous for you 😂

Oddly enough, if that Excursion doesn't have rust I will buy it. If it is a diesel and the right engine that is what we are looking for...I know all the bad juice too...we just LOVE Excursions and I want to replace my gas one with a diesel. Plus, we own a commercial diesel business and my husband is a master mechanic.
Im glad you got back without breaking down again. Get some rest now, you've earnt it

Two comments: you are a sculptor of vehicles - I just see hoses and engine parts and you see possibilities and I love that you bring them to life before our eyes. Plus, I laughed aloud when you were saying of your vehicle - "Once something has wronged me..." That sounds like a living being and I get it in my gut why you feel that way about your cars/trucks. Thanks, Tom!
Don't forget your girls Tom😁~ I'm a girl and I would have loved if my dad had done this for me (sorry Dawn😄). I've always loved trucks❣️❣️❣️
I am on the edge of my seat!!! No offense but this ‘Amassing Dad’ is waaaay more entertaining than ‘Minimal Mom’ who would have thrown out the Bronco if you had already owned it!!
Have to say i burst out laughing when I saw the bronco 😂😂😂. The state of it! 🤣🤣🤣 Delighted for gage though. Little sweetie 🥰
You are very brave towing home the Bronco, with that busted Excursion. I wouldn't keep it either! Glad you made it home safely and that you and Dawn could finish the video. I hope that you , Dawn and the family have a great week!
You are a driving animal! I once drove non stop from Norfolk, VA to Cape Cod after having been up for 12 hours ( had the 4-8 watch). By the time I got to the Cape Cod Canal I was so tired I couldn’t press the gas peddle down enough to get over 45 mph. Pulled into my Mom’s driveway at around 6am, next thing I know my mom is tapping on the window and it’s 9am. Oh to be young again! That was in 1974.
Wish you would have let us know ahead of time, you could have stopped in beautiful Ocala for the night. Hope you get rid of this bugger. Good luck!
Glad the excursion didn't give you trouble getting home. My husband is a truckdriver... So we were commiserating with you on the trip. Broncos! We 💕 broncos! We've had 4 over the years, 82, 86, 96, 94. (All bought old...) But now i will have to qualify that to, we love OLD broncos. We saw a new one over the weekend, and all i could think was how disappointing!! I loved the bronco because it was a large, high vehicle (gotta be up high for safety, right) with a short wheelbase that could turn on a dime. Oh what memories! The first one was a 4 speed that you started in 2nd. One time we even took the roof off and went 4 wheeling! But that doesn't last long around here in the Sonoran desert 🏜️ where it's 100+ all summer. Gotta have shade and your bubble of air-conditioning around you! Took a crowd of 10 people to the beach one time (in Mexico) in the 2nd one. The 3rd one we made quite a bit of profit on as an airman wanted it to fix it up all (whatever the male equivalent of fancy is). The 4th one was decent inside but the paint was sunburnt really bad, and even though the tailgate window worked, the hinges were so rusty, it wouldn't always stay latched. Good thing it had the spare tire close across it! Made a profit on that one too. But alas, now we have grandchildren, and a 2 door vehicle is just not so usable anymore, hahahaha. Blessings from AZ
I am so glad you made it home with both vehicles in one piece, you must have been ready to drop, driving those many hours on your own through the night is so exhausting.
Worst thing to say when driving alone on open road: “still running fine”! LOL. YOURE SUCH A GOOD SPORT, TOM. “WE” are picking up a bronco, as in the royal we, or better known as me myself and I! You’re amazing. (Did you make a deal and have him throw in the boat too?)
You truly can do anything! Loading that Bronco like a BOSS!
Good luck with the Bronco, '96 was my vehicle and it would break all of the time. Gas lines, oil lines, lost brakes while driving through an intersection in Illinois. Fun times. It will get very rusty in the midwest, so if you want to preserve it, keep it far away from outside lol the back window motor stopped working too geesh all of these memories just came back. Even with a family full of mechanics, we couldn't keep it from breaking down. It's a fun romping vehicle though 🤣
Cracking up that Bronco put an ad on your video
I’m the same as you - once a vehicle has let me down, the trust is broken and it’s gone!
Tom you're the one I'd want to live near if ever there was a zombie apocalypse!!! You can do it all. You're amazing.

We have a 2000 gas that I am about to drop $3000 to fix rust on at body shop and I want an 2005 diesel...unless I can find the 2006 model they made for Mexico? I want one with no rust...is this too much to as for? We are a family of 7. We are tall folks, my 9 year old is over 5 feet tall. We have to have big trucks that are 4wd. The only way I would get rid of mine is if I got another one the same exact moment. I LOVE my Excursion.

I’m sure you just wanted to crawl in that bed, yank an extra blanket off the ladder and only look at the room after some sleep. 🤣
Glad you made. I like the Excursion despite the issues you’re having with it. Love the Bronco!
Can’t show my husband this one, Tom. He’s such a Bronco fiend and we just had to scrap his old one. Caught on fire (darn chipmunks) last year, finally had it towed to the scrap yard. He’d buy the one you did!
So very happy that you got home safely, Tom. I'm sure Dawn was there to welcome you with loving arms, a delicious meal and a good night's rest not disturbing you. You are so amazing,! There is nothing you cannot do! Your family is blessed to have you! AND so are we. We love your videos!!!!
What's next is RITGHT but I don't go much so it's not much and I farm it all out anyway. We are both prone to get ourselves into these things because we also know that NOTHING is as simple as it starts or we think it is. Happy home, Tom. SNORE! and GBWYall!

“We’re using the container method.” 😆😆😆 My dad (72) recently bought a ‘79 Bronco in Michigan from a local guy for $600. It’s in shockingly good shape and was only 10 minutes from home. What a great excursion! I love you and Dawn. Anytime Dawn won't let you do what you want, you just call me, you have my permission!
My brother had an RV worked on in another state. It was finished, he went back, but then two weeks later it was “almost ready”. A week later they said it wasn’t fixable. He paid $4,000 to the non-fixers, had it shipped home and worked on it himself. They had some parts on wrong and some weren’t there at all. Lesson learned.
Well Tom u r home. What an adventure 😥🤗🤗🤗

I bought a 1995 Ford Mercury Sable in 2003, with around 75,000 miles, finally vehicularly entering the nineties. It required a number of repairs in the first few months, and everyone thought I had a lemon. But then it settled down and has done very well for me ever since. The only problems now are from letting it sit too long, and in finding spare parts as needed. It's given me 18 years of good service. Granted, it's repairs are much cheaper than yours.
So glad you and all the vehicles made it home safe.
