Interesting and informational video. Thank you!!! What is the relationship between chrysocolla and gold, is it the same as turquoise? I have a mine about 20 miles south of Luning that has a huge chrysocolla vein. I'm finding some micro fine in the chrysocolla/quartz. I'm hoping to find more of everything as we keep working it....

Its a relation of copper and gold. Both Chrysocolla and turquoise are copper minerals.
Once again you've come up with an illuminating presentation. This time on a mineral that I find genuinely beautiful that's essentially been forgotten. I appreciate the way you tell the story from a historical and a geological perspective. I absolutely love the geological connection you made between gold and turquoise. You remind me of how minerals can be viewed more as beautiful pieces of nature, and how different that is from the notion of gold fever. But I have to ask if there's a market for turquoise based on weight like gold or if it's valued based on other subjective qualities?

There is absolutely a market for good quality turquoise and it is sold by the weight. It is different that gold in that the price is based on the quality, not a strict price per ounce like gold. Gold bars made of gold from Nevada are no different that gold bars made of African gold. Its all the same. Turquoise of is many different qualities of color, webbing patterns, hardness, etc.
I could have checked out a book in the library and read this at my leisure. I was expecting more pictures, not a "read along". One star.
