A lot of people miss the real meaning of this tool. The same control this awesome brave man is using to play games, is going to be used to take any person; not only handicapped people; and let them do things that a human cannot normally do. Like control an Exoskeleton hands free. This takes you from quadraplegic to almost moving normally in one surgery. Remote wireless control of tools will be very useful in almost every workplace too. Neuralink has infinite uses and the independence it will give to humanity is a level of independence without precedence. I really hope to see this at full potential before I die.

This could be resolved by having a hybrid tissue that can interface between electronics and human tissue. This was sort of the plot of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Adam Jensen ("I never asked for this") had DNA/genetics that allowed him to adapt to prosthetics more easily than most people. Genetic engineering and DNA profiling would allow us to interface with electronics more easily with more, "natural" connections and prevent the electrodes from receding.

Theres also a dark side to this technology with its future applications, and its history of harm to animals in testing. Monkeys chewed their fingers off, for example. This is like starting a new electric vehicle company and telling everyone your the first to do it.

My (potentially wrong) layman understanding is that nobody's expecting legit Data I/O in my lifetime, but there's *some* feedback we can do because we know how specific parts of the brain work. Like how theres tech in development that can give blind people sight like they're looking through a 1970s security camera, it might not be that hard to stimulate certain centers for touch in order to allow people to "feel" feedback on devices.
