The Dutch team of 1974 was the best and should have won. That team and Hungary in 1954 are the two teams that deserved to win the WC and two of the best teams ever to play the game.

Brazil 1970 Hungary 1950-54 Holland 1974 Best 3 teams ever according to the world soccer magazine. Brazil '82 was pretty awesome too :) As I see, there is no beauty in football.

Funny that both in 1954 and 1974 Germany won the World Cup. And in 1970 the Germans were stopped only by Italy in the Match of the Century in the semi final. It would be more than interesting to know how a final between Brazil and Germany would have played out back then. We had the likes of Beckenbauer, Müller (Gerd not Thomas), Seeler, Overrath, Sepp Meier and Stan Libuda in our line up. Germany won both the European tournament in 1972 and the World Cup in 1974. They were a great team, too. Ask the Dutch ;-)))

36 years later, the Germans didn't need their greatest side to achieve the same result against Argentina in the Quarterfinal in South Africa. But like the Dutch they also didn't win the World Cup in that tournament. But unlike the Dutch they won the World Cup four years later - by the most unpredictable result against Brazil and another victory against Argentina ;-)

As a FC Barcelona fan and football fan in general, this is a truly sad day. We will never forget you, Cruyff. Thank you for everything.

I remember seeing this game back when I was in high school, what a great time was than.

One of the goals was in off-side. I remember watching that game back in 1974. I was attending high school at the time. Now Argentina team has evolved and is not anymore that weak Argentina team. And Netherlands has never won a World Cup ever since…Argentina has won it three times …

The pressure is on Holland this time. It has never won a World Cup.The rest of the semi -finalist has won at least 2 times. I hope Holland wins, but I think Argentina or Germany are the favourites. Brazil is without Neymar ,so the chance is greatly reduced.

No por algo le decían "la Naranja Mecánica" a este equipo. El único mundial donde jugó Johan Cruyff.

The best dutch team of all times against one of the worst argentinian teams in history. There where really good argentine players (they could never beat that dutch team, but 4-0 is really too much) but Carlos Babington couldn't play this match for Argentina because of his 3 yellow cards, and we lost our only playmaker. Argentina had no goal chances in this game, it was completely crushed

Most influential team ever! I know I'm subjective but for me is also the best team ever, with Cruyff the greatest footballer ever.

Let's go Argentina!
