You should definitely be using at least a small amount of soap when cleaning. Milk builds up a film if you only use water because it contains fat (oil) which is why people are getting burnt bases. If you're too lazy, just put a drop of soap in, fill with water and turn on like you would with milk - just watch it so it doesn't overflow and stop it if it starts to leak. This video is daft 🙄

Nespresso replaced mine because the base around the frother had burnt. The lady from Nespresso explained that it was something to do with the acid in the milk that caused the problem. She advised cleaning by adding a couple of drops of washing up liquid and some water and letting it run. I've done this and had no problems since.

There is absolutely no way cleaning it with only water could work: I tried it and my aeroccino now has some burnt milk stuck to the bottom - you know that brown stain that is really hard to remove. I have had to use the sponge a lot and there still seems to be a fine brown line in a hard to reach part of the chamber. Please advise!

We still need a video on how to deep clean this if burnt milk stains are left in the bottom.

They should have made the milk chamber removable with a twist lock or something. Cleaning it is a pain in the ass.

I have tried everything to clean off the burnt milk. Not even a very abrasive scrubbing pad helps. The only way is scraping it off with a spoon. Unless someone has a miracle idea, this is a very frustrating.

There is no switch off/on on the new aeroccino 3 refresh version.

Hi, the spinner in my frother has stopped working. It makes an odd noise whenI press the start button and it then turns itself off. Can I just purchase the frother and spinner and not the base as mine is attached to the actual machine.

The problem of burnt milk at the base is a real one as so many people are complaining - surely you can come up with a solution. Perhaps a special cleaning fluid we can buy with our capsules.

I had the same problem and Nespresso replaced it for me under guarantee. I now just rinse it with cold water and leave it to stand with cold water in it for a wee while afterwards. It's been over a year now and never had that problem again

I just bought my Nespresso vertuo machine with the Aeroccino 3. Is it ok to wash the Aeroccino by simply putting a pump of Dial foam soap in it and water then closing it and shaking and rinsing it again after that? Thanks.

Milk sticks to the bottom of container every time it is used. If i need to do 2 batches of milk, i need to scrub the base (not easy due to the narrow container size), or the milk burns. When will nespresso fix this? Have they even tried their own product?

I agree. I don't know about washing something with just water, that has had milk in it. I use a very little gentle dish soap.It's not ideal, but there's not many options with the way it's made.

Such a good team Nespresso have I think they can do much better than this. Ideal product would have automatic cleaning or very low maintenance (cleaning after several usages). Tassimo solution is very good but don't like non fresh milk like in vending coffee machines. Maybe same as Tassimo tech but using reusable containers to pour the milk in (would include few of these containers to dishwash them every other day). Hope this feedback helps!
