    Another great video mate you know me shell dweller and I want it i got to say im genuinely impressed by you balancing the aggression i know a few who have keep them and the most they could keep was 2 males in a 40 the rest would be killed and that setup required tons of line of sight break up im genuinely impressed

    Thanks man! Part of it may also be that they all grew up together. I've found when they can work our their hierarchy young, it tends to be less dramatic. : -)

    Jason, I had a male albino Callipterus years ago. He would act like he was ambitiously breeding the females, but I never got any offspring from him. I think he was shooting blanks. I really hated it because a couple of aquarium stores who specialized in cichlids were hoping to buy some of the albino callipterus juveniles from me. Oh, well that's a part of fishkeeping, you just never know.

    Where do you get your sponge filters? All I can find are the very very fine/micropore sponge filters. I'd like a courser sponge filter like I've seen in your tanks. The micropore just doesn't have the GPH I'd like. Beautiful fish too by the way!

    How many dominant male callipterus can you put in a 180 gallon

  • @PrimeTimeAquatics

    @PrimeTimeAquatics

    4 жыл бұрын

    I think I had at least four in my 33 long. They would chase each other a little, but always seemed to back off before anyone got hurt. In a 180 you could probably do at least 4-6 without too many issues, provided there are lots of places to hide and territory to call home.
