    it is amazing how a mechanical device like this can do so much with what appears so little effort and literally last forever.

    It’s amazing that this huge sprinkler, built with modern materials is still operating just like the one Fingal Orr built over 100 years ago. I like how you can see the range of the sprinkler and the detail of how it operates in the same shot. Nice stills at the end, too. Great video!

    Theres actually 2 versions of this F100. There is the one built back in the days the "Fast reverse" ones were made where they didn't have the reverse mechanism or stops, but had the mounting holes in the barrel for you to be able to install parts to make it a P100 (basically part circle, same gun though). This version is one of the newer ones which do not have an adjustable brake, rather they use nylon pads and you remove the base and remove/install springs and you can loosen the brake tension or tighten it up. The old F series guns used a bolt and spring mechanism to push 2 discs together to create tension. Basically like a disc braking system on a car. There are a few P series guns at the dealer that have had the reverse mechanism removed so there basically "F" series guns now. Also there is a company named "Aqua Burst" that has knockoff Nelson SR guns for sale, they look almost identical. This gun runs very well on his setup.

    @@josevaquedano788 Hi, yes the rebuild kits are similar between F100 and SR100. IF you need bearings and seals the part numbers are: 6598 (bearings) 6600 (seals). I'll try to add a link to a parts list here: nelsonirrigation.com/library/BG_F100PL.pdf

    Nelson is renowned worldwide as being the top leader in ag irrigation equipment. I actually like them the best, out of all the brands that make big guns/rain guns Nelson is the top! With Rainbird being the 2nd. They made a lot of cool guns back in the day, some being fast reverse. I've only seen 1 Rainbird gun out in the wild and it was a 205G. these guns can run a long time with little maitenance being that you service them reguarly.

    Theres a Nelson P100 FR gun on marketplace an hr from me. Looked all there and had the stops. They wanted 150 for it. If you were interested i could send you the listing. It spent its life on the end of a pivot. I figure it shouldnt be too much trouble for rebuilding as you do it yourself.

    Nice F100!. She seems to run very well with your setup!. This weekend i am going to try the 2 pumps thing again but this time make sure my stand legs are more spread out. I think that was my problem last time. I know Nelson made a couple 100 guns with a 2.5" input, I think the only gun i have with a 2.5" input is my PC100 Non-NV. All of my other guns are 2". I believe this was an option when purchasing one was going with the 2" or 2.5" input. Some even came with a base flange that required bolts. Yours looks in very good shape! Did you have to rebuild it ?

    Thanks! It was in pretty good shape, just needed a good cleaning and I rebuilt/replaced the bearing and seals in the counterweight as it had a lot of wear and also put on a new warning label on the range tube. You can hear the counterweight rattle in my shorts video I did on this F100.

    @photocontrol when I ran my 103DH on 2 pumps the arm was mostly vertical from the increased pressure and the counterweight was moving pretty good

  • @photocontrol

    @photocontrol

    @@NelsonBigGunP200Fan Yes I noticed that, the extra pressure sure gets the arm and counterweight moving! Mine was barely getting the counterweight to move.

    So question. Is your pump electric or gas/diesel powered ? If its electric is it 220 or 480v? If its 480v did you have to have an electrician hook it up for you ? I figured your hydro company wouldnt want just anyone to mess with the service going to your house from the transformer as even 480v can be dangerous. Just curious!

  • @photocontrol

    @photocontrol

    My pump is gas powered (7 hp) I do have a smaller 120V 1 hp electric pump. A 480V pump would be awesome but very expensive price tag between the pump and power supply, there is 3 phase primary lines at the road, would need a hydro pole with a 3 transformer arrangement installed on the property.
