Thanks for the info. I've got two old brass Rainbirds but don't know very much about them. I'm using a PJ in the yard right now because it's easier to put the water where I need it. Its a smaller unit. I also have a 35, but isn't convenient to use due to the spoon shooting water 90 degrees to the nozzle.

The 25PJ was by far the most versatile smaller model. Could really put the water out there and some models had the splash arm or the Difuser screw to reduce distance. The 35 spoon drive does get water everywhere haha

When I was a kid, one of the homes nearby me had a whole irrigation system consisting of at least five 35's and two 25's, and I loved watching that setup in action. There was enough pressure to run at least three of the 35's simultaneously which was cool, or two 35's and two 25's but they were a bit weak with all those on. We did not have an irrigation system. I was always asking my dad to buy more sprinklers, and had quite a collection back then. We had a couple of 25's on the yellow bases, I convinced him to buy a full-circle 40B for the backyard with nozzles front and rear. That one was cool! Also had a couple of Nelson Alpha II's that I really liked - super fast reverse action on those. I never had any 35's though, until later. I now have four 35 PJ-TNT's on the green heart bases that I scored on eBay about 15 years ago. Love the sound and the action and they will last forever.

Yeah, I remember a house in our neighborhood when I was a kid. They had two zones, front yard had 3 of these and the back had 4. They were mounted on copper pipes, placed in corners with tiny flower beds around the heads. I always thought it was well planned and rugged!

Reminds me of being a kid again back in the 1970s. I saw these and the 25s all over the Miami suburbs. I also remember most of them had some kind of half dome-shaped concrete donut at the base of the riser. This was to prevent grass growing straight up the pipe and for the sturdy support.

Like you I like the 35 model as it seems to be a more powerful and smoother running compared to the 25. The fact that they have continued this model speak well for value of this one. I do like the PJ arm, but do like the faster rotation of the spoon arm. I would like to have seen stops on the PJ arm model and the return cycle. The fact this model is probably the most imitated by other brands says a lot about the model and design. I prefer the U260 Western Brass design a little better and I think part of it is the larger spoon design. Both are great sprinklers and thank you for sharing.

I have a few of the model 35 PJ sprinklers. My Dad had them stashed away in a 5 gal plastic tree container , when I came across them I thought of how nice they sound in action, I brought them home and set one up to use . I am going to post the video on KZread,, it would be my first. I can get one out to you somehow and maybe you can make another video on it! Cool video

Thats awesome ! They have a certain "Heavy" sound to them that you only get with the S Tube PJ arms. The 65PJ is even better ;).

@@chadbailey189 never use any lube other than water, that comes right from the manufacturers. If the back end of the body wobbles back and forth it may need a special spring between the sleeve and the body which helps hold them in place when the arm comes out from the body. If you need additional help do let me know.
