Neil Young - Helpless Live at Farm Aid 1993

Музыка

Neil Young performs "Helpless" at Farm Aid VI in Ames, Iowa on April 24, 1993.
Farm Aid’s mission is to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. Farm Aid artists and board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews and Margo Price host an annual festival to raise funds to support Farm Aid’s work with family farmers and to inspire people to choose family farm food. For more than 35 years, Farm Aid, with the support of the artists who contribute their performances each year, has raised more than $78 million to support programs that help farmers thrive, expand the reach of the Good Food Movement, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture and promote food from family farms.

This song always puts a tear to my eye. I grew up not to far from where Neil lived in Omeme. Both of my kids even attended Scott Young public school. I remember about 10 years ago Neils old house came up for sale. Being a huge fan I was prepared to make the purchase. The wife on the other hand, not so much. We are no longer together.

Played that piano at boots and saddles . The bar tender pulled out a fiddle . It was a great night . A tenor sang just enough for the city . It was beautiful . Slept next to the ocean , went to thanksgiving in a house crushed by a redwood tree. Said thank you and drove to Florida . Such is life .

This is a beautiful song ,that accesses feelings that we try to keep locked away. It brings tears to my eyes. How I felt when I lost Diane. It reminds me where I have been and how life is so fragile. To keep holding my head up and be thankful for what I go

There is a town in North Ontario Dream comfort memory to spare And in my mind I still need a place to go All my changes were there Blue, blue windows behind the stars Yellow moon on the rise Big birds flying across the sky Throwing shadows on our eyes Leave us Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless Babe, can you hear me now? The chains are locked and tied across the door Baby, sing with me somehow Blue, blue windows behind the stars Yellow moon on the rise Big birds flying across the sky Throwing shadows on our eyes Leave us Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless

What I like about Neil Young is he walks the walk. He doesn’t just talk the talk. He actually acts on his beliefs. His voice is pure gold. He is unique. No one else sounds like him. This is one of my favorites. He expresses pure emotion. Helpless. He expresses the pain of loss perfectly. What a great artist. Thanks Neil Young.
