Even Lata didi sang soooo many romantic songs. Unke chehre pe koi romanticism nahi dikhta tha. She took it as a job. And her job was to put her vocals to work, not her face. Infact pehle dino mai mic and stand ke saath gaate the. Matlab mic haath mai bhi nahi hota tha. Singers sirf uske samne khade hokar sing karte the like kids singing vande mataram into mic in school. Only the end product was judges. Not kiska kya expression hai ya stage presence hai ya etc etc. Ye sab Aaj kal ke singer ka chochla lagta hai. To take away focus from their singing.

She is versatile. Not just aao raja, manali trance or dilbar but she has also sung many folk songs... Also not to forget her slow and romantic songs like Dil ko karaar aya, suroor, mile ho tum, oh humsafar where she completely changes her tone and it's not even auto tune bc she sounds great in live too
