Ned Rig, Neko Rig, Or Drop Shot

In this video I respond to a question that was asked about the scenarios to fish finesse presentation. The ned rig, neko, and drop shot are 3 proven winners however they shine in different scenarios.

You should do a video on how you find brush an timber lines and how you target fish around them. Keep up the good work!

I love a ned rig on hard bottom or sand, and a neko rig in grassy areas. Drop Shots work everywhere!

thanks for this video, my question is kind of answered in the video but I wanted to ask if you take any other factors into consideration when choosing to throw a ned or a neko. I know you said you like the ned in clear water on plain banks with either sand or chunk rock, and the neko is good for getting suspended fish, but are there any other factors that you consider and when will you go for the neko over the ned ie would you throw the neko if you're in mercy water or a bank with some grass because you like the ned for clear water on plain banks. I'm usually shore fishing so I dont have a fish finder to tell if they're suspended and I often have trouble figuring out which one of these two techniques to throw.

When you said Ned Rig 10 ft or shallower...that's it for me. I dont have to tournament fish, I fish for fun. I prefer moving baits like Chatterbaits or swimbaits like a Zman Minniwz or Slim SwimZ. I'm lucky I can go fish some nice creeks or streams in the bass are deep in the lakes. I tried the drop shot but I'm a ned rig guy for finesse. I have a big ned and a finesse rig rod ready if I have to put down the moving bait rods.

If you have a Soft Plastic worm that naturally wants to float, and you add a weight which naturally wants to sink, you have two diametrically opposed forces that can be Tweaked, you can laterally set the depth at which your lure will be "Neutrally Buoyant".

    B. Lat, I was about to ask a question on the #NedRig but you already answered it by saying that to throw it on a do nothing bank, are you marking fish off those banks? or just fishing area between spots?

Hey WildBill- I was in a similar boat, but two things have helped me from snagging. Try the weedless TRD jig head in the 1/10 ounce size. Secondly I actually went to a 1/15 ounce head (without being weedless) and that has helped some as well. Obviously not going to throw it around timber unless I have the weedless version. Good luck dude!
