    Great tip! I usually carry small sections of clear, plastic straws for using as siphons to draw up dyes from the bottles. The plastic straws then take on the color and scent of the dye. I will make a video on this later.

    I decided to begin Neko rigging again. I started 2 yrs ago and began Giko rigging & left Neko alone for a while. Tomorrow I decided to go back to it so I wanted to watch this again. All the hoopla about rings and cross over bands being used to me is silly. I try to keep it basic but I've been finesse fishing for many years and I never used O rings until I was given a handful of them. I've used mosquito hooks, live bait hooks and even small EWG hooks. I prefer size 2 hooks and I love Mustad Titan X weedless wacky/Neko hook. Just my serious hook for serious situations. #1 Mosquito hooks are nice at times but that's a different thing all together. I like the lightest weight I can get by with also. 3/32 is ideal but if I throw a Trick worm, I like a 1/16oz. Thanks for sharing this video. Helps me get my game plan together

    I've caught a lmb for the first time on a neko. I use a hook that has a wire weed guard. And take some nails from Walmart for the weight. I hook into the plastic. I've not thrown it off the hook. It's a cheap way to do this without spending to much money on this rig. You can neko rig just about any small plastics and it's a lot of fun.

    @@petetorrez3028 during the summer when the heat is really intense, bass will hold tight to cover and go deeper..... I suggest drop-shotting baits in areas that have a sharp drop, or deeper sunken cover like logs, brush, foliage and rock piles.... When fish hold deep, you also have to slow down the action of your bait.... Deep and slow is the key..... Also, try switching up and doing your fishing for bass at night, it really gets good in the evening.... When fishing at night, use lures that are black, or blue and black.... Any dark color will create a visible sillouett that the bass will see.

    I had a look at St Lawrence river MLF results. Whatever about days one and two. Day three really sucked. For a bunch of the 'top' contenders there. So it goes to show. It ain't easy. And when you look at it. Standing back. Around a half dozen anglers. Have that river figured out Brian. And that's really all.

  • @academicmailbox7798

    @academicmailbox7798

    I know 'the field' for that tournament was. Whatever the entire field happened to be. But there's really. A handful of guys. Who know how to really handle that river. And that's it. Period.

    On the bass master elite side, Taku went away with it. Ninety pounds weight. It's about trying to figure out. The goby coming from the great lakes. And how that small bait fish. Has affected bass schools. Taku found bunches of a hundred fish. All five pounders and more. They were around Zebra muscle banks too.

    I always say it. Watch what shoreline saltwater anglers do. England or Japan in particular. Figure out what bait fish are doing. And it's easy 'map' what larger shoals of predators will do. Same as in saltwater.

  • @academicmailbox7798

    @academicmailbox7798

    3 жыл бұрын

    I've read multiple articles on it now. The goby population has changed things up there. And it's thrown a lot of anglers off I think. The MLF 'day three'. The top fifty guys. Some only got 'a fish' (almost zero'ed). On day three. And loads of those top fifty. Had rough day two's (while many people, put up weights that compensated for lousy day two's, in their day one weight). The deeper jerk bait. On day one. Might have been worth a shot. I don't know.

  • @academicmailbox7798

    @academicmailbox7798

    In the bass master elite, they had access to the lake too (and I think that's where the big weights there were caught). My guess is. The lake population of goby in July. Had something to do with it.
