This is so well done, very helpful for visual learners who actually need to see the pathogenesis of branchial cysts. Thank you!

Had one for years worst surgery recover I’ve ever had. I was a teen at the time
I was 15 when I had mine removed. They had no idea what it was until they got in there. I had a bump all of a sudden. They said it was rare that it showed up so late.

It's not though. It's actually quite common for them to show up later in life. You'd be surprised. (I only know this because I didn't have mind show up until I was 28). Yours actually showed up much earlier than it does for some.

What is the right age for surgery of branchial cleft fistula for a child born with this anomaly.Is it necessary to operate, what if left untreated would be a problem.
@mariafernandaa9626

there is no preferred age, the main requirement for surgery is that it's infection free at the time. Its not 100% necesary to operate. The problem if left untreated is recurrent infections and abscess, but if you are living infection free theres no need to operate, just know that theres a chance it could get infected.
thank you

Any doctor who is neuro surgeon(brain doctor) can identify and do or suggest.. apparently you can get it located.. Mine was done by the Ex head of Tata Memorial Hospital(mumbai) Doctor dept. Dr. Sandeep agarwal(Oncologist). Currently from past 10 years I guess he sits in PSCRC Hospital sikandra, Agra (Uttar Pradesh)
Please for the surgery is it a 50-50 life and death situation? Mostly for the 2nd type, the one with a hole
