Man this brought back memories from when I was a child. I was constantly having ear infection and couldn't sleep at night. I remember having this surgery and every sound afterwards in the world was so much louder. After a while that thing fell out during school time.

Bruh i had the same surgery thingy but the ear tube hasnt come out or i should say i didn't notice it . And Are you hearing things normally or things are still more louder ? I am getting worried, I am going to the doctor tommorow or the day after tomorrow

My son is 18 months and isn't saying many words. He babbles a long but we are concerned he may have hearing issues so his pediatrician referred him to an ENT and Speech Pathologist. This cleared up so many questions I had in case he does have issues with hearing. He has had several ear infections and currently, the inside of his ears are red. See a specialist in a week. Wish we could get in earlier but glad to be getting some answers.

Same thing happened to me when I was younger, I was getting alot of ear infections and they put tubes in my ears and it fixed them, the ok only down side is, you want be able to go up under water without closing up your ears with something

Yep totally is not my favourite sport and one of the only ways of keeping shape! I have them. In the uk they are called grommets and the infection is called glue ear. I prefer the American names.

Very useful info and video presentation, my child just suffered from this and I could now understand the reason.

I had one of these put in as a kid. I think my siblings did as well. I mostly reamber getting annoyed, that I had to put silly putty in my ear every time I took a bath. The silly putty was to prevent water getting in my ear and causing another infection.

Omg, so educational video my son is going to have his tube put in, in a week and i was so so nervous before watching this video. Thanks a lot for making such informative videos...

It happened to me I had decrease in hearing tho and it was horrible it felt like I was deaf from side and front the other not. The decrease in hearing is sooo annoying‼️

I had a Grommet put in my right ear over 4/5 years ago after having my nose blocked every time I had a cold, used to drive me crazy and I couldn’t hear anything out of my right ear for over a year but once I finally had the op done I couldn’t believe it, it was like heaven I could hear again and haven’t had a problem since!

I’m having them getting removed and getting cavities filled, a tooth pulled, and all of my teeth cleaned, While I am asleep! I am VERY excited!

I know these naturally fall out adter 12 to 18 months or something... but what's to stop them falling out on the wrong side of the ear drum? They look symmetrical...

I got tubes as a kid and yes they did stop me from getting ear infections but when I got my right tube taken out the Doctor Who did it didn't do it right and infected my right ear really bad so I have scars on the inside of my right ear and have issues with hearing out of my ear sometimes. And I can't even go underwater without having to put something over my ears so they don't hurt.

Doctor say me :- loss of pneumatisation with sclerosis of left mastoid air cells. chronic mastoidits . Should I need to do big operation or not .did it can be cure by doing same process by keeping air tube ..

What if the tube never falls out like mine? I went to two different doctors and both said it was better to keep it in than risk messing the eardrum taking it out.

In 2019 I got an ear infection and I had to go to a doctor and since then I clean out my ears every month

I've had fluid in my right ear for over 20 years now. It feels packed. My doctors have been useless. I gave up hoping for a fix over ten years ago. I may return and ask for this operation. I'm 39 and the best years of my life have been plagued with illness because of disfunctioning eustacian tubes

I had three different types of tubes placed in my ears between the ages of 4 years to about 11 years old. I get middle ear infections frequently. When ever I get congested or get a cold, I’m miserable until it clears up. I absolutely hate it... I’m 25 now and I feel like the tubes I had as a child are to blame.

My whole ear is sensitive and painful. And its watery

I was born with mobeous and it causes me to have really bad ear infections all the time I had tubes when I was small and got them taken out but now that I’m 21 it’s suddenly really bad and nothing helps when taking medication I think I may get tubes again...

I had tubes when I was little and they left holes inside of my ears Bc it never healed and then first I had to have patches to try and close the holes but when that didn’t work after 3 times I had to get a double eardrum reconstruction and lost about 30% of my hearing

So like I had a heart infection but like in my left ear I couldn't hear and when I pull my ear I can hear but when I let go I can't hear and I try to do the thing where u hold your nose and close your mouth and blow. But it didn't work so like I waited, it was a little annoying but I got the hang of it, the 1 week I could hear properly :)

I had grommets (ear tubes) in when I was little because of ear infections. I also had my tonsils and adenoids out. Now that I am older I find that I have ear pressure problems/dysfunctional eustachian tubes, allergies, and sinus. Is this operation better than the balloon inflation operation, I will I have to keep going back for operations my whole life?

IdolEyes84 I had my tonsils and adenoids removed for always having tonsillitis but as soon about 6 months after that I started getting infections on my ear I’ve been death in my ear for 2 years now and I was wondering if maybe the infection moved to my ear

Mine pains I used black cotton swab it make my ear inside itchy and pain when I move my mouth it makes a clicking sound what do do

i think you should see a doctor, maybe you still have the perforations in your ears which may cause ear infections

Man the weird thing is that i didn’t feel any pain but i couldn’t hear good with my right ear. Now atleast i know what happened.

I don't remember them ever putting it in when i was little, but I do remember them taking it out because OMG IT WAS PAINFULL. I got to keep it when they removed it for show and tell lol, then immediately lost it at school waiting on my ride for pick up. I also remember hearing EVERYTHING in hd when it was done. Nowadays, im plagued by tinnitus and vertigo 😅

At the age of three I had two ear surgeries, but at the age of 10 and 20 something I still had a few ear infections.

Tubes never worked on me

Oml I remember going into the hospital then watching the balloon then going to sleep and waking up every thing was so much louder

I had it when i was 5!

I had 13 sets of tubes in each ear....I was premee....I'd get bad ear infections a lot! I'm having a bad ear infection now! At least my ear drum mimbraine wasn't punchedred
