nobody stood up for him when he was being bullied

What a sad world we live in that a child would commit suicide.

As a victim of bullying myself that I grew up having low self esteem, I feel sorry to the parents and siblings of this young lad. You didn't deserve to see how cruel the world is at young age.

I'm 58 from the uk & I'm not ashamed to say that I'm crying while i write this. This is heartbreaking. I am sending my condolences to sammy's family & friends. Sweet dreams Sammy, they cant hurt you anymore.

Bullies are cowards!!!

Any of you parents of these little monsters who bullied this child: YOU ARE FAILURES AS PARENTS.

My daughter was bullied badly when she was in kindergarden. I decided to homeschool her. She is in 15 now. Best decision ever.

Older sister here. My younger sister (and amazing female role model) ended up passing away from suicide last summer. My parents saw the warning signs and for some reason chose to ignore it. Suicide is in some ways the most painful death, because we all feel like we could’ve prevented it. I will never forget reading her last text sent to me at night, explaining that she’s sorry, and how “she hopes we can move on from the pain just like we always told her to”. She had a beautiful passion to help children that I’ve never seen in anyone else. She would’ve been devastated to see this little boy pass away. My sister was 14 years old…..

I hope the bullies and families of bullies will be held accountable as well as the school administration who were already aware of the bullying.

Can the bullies be punished? Prosecuted? Bullying is serious

And THIS is why I don't like it when I hear older people whining that "these kids are sooooo weak and lazy!!" I'm 44 and can't even imagine growing up these days with cameras everywhere. The bullying was relentless when I was an adolescent, and it wasn't even a word then. These kids have enormous pressure on them, and while they have no more maturity than we did, now they have resources for permanent consequences.

I can't stand bullies.

Watching this little guy's casket get carried out was the worst. Too young, way too young.

where was all the support while he was getting bullied? cmon people

No child that age should ever want to take their life.

Whenever I hear about children who die because of bullying--either by suicide or physical injuries--I wonder what goes through the minds of the bullies. I realize that they probably don't care, but I still wonder if any of them feel.....anything?

He didn't deserve to die, man. He didn't deserve to die.

This is why we push so hard for anti-bullying. Bullying doesn't "toughen up" a kid, it just makes life more difficult. To a still-forming brain, the difficulty is incredibly more hard to deal with.
