Please do a report on Vallejo abandoned cars. They currently have over 20,000 reports and only 1 part time officer working on these cases. On my neighborhood block (across from a school no less) are abandoned looking cars with no license plate or expired tags. Guaranteed at least 1 is stolen. It’s so crazy/annoying.

When the vehicles are recovered they usually go to an impound lot and the owner is notified and they then notify their insurance company,that’s what happens in most cities so why not California

Police are not your friends. Police are not there to help. Police are only there to their job as they see their job is to be done.

STOLEN, then abandoned after the needed parts are stripped. How about check the VIN and contact the insurance or owner?

If the police check the VIN numbers and they come back stolen they should go to an auction so insurance companies can try to recoup losses. If they are totally stripped down send them to a recycler. It doesn't make any sense to leave them on the street and pay to store any of them.

California: Find yourself here. Oakland: Find your car here.

Car theft is a violent crime. Horse theft was a capital crime and car theft should be, too.

They are stolen cars. No one is going to leave a car that they own there. If someone owned it, they would have scrapped it themselves.

@@Jimmyxsx All of that take a ton of paperwork to backtrack the insurance/theft reports to clear out all tags associated with the VIN/License especially to ensure they don't have sticky violations, liens etc.

@@bigbossimmotal To lazy... they just get rid of them. Cops have the ID # if any. Insurance company's just right them off before or after they are found and don't G,A,S afterword's... they don't clean up trashed cars. People with no Insurance get screwed...

At this point, all of Oakland should be leveled and they should start over.
