In this video we attempt to fix a Canon Selphy CP760 compact photo printer that was reporting that the transfer cassette was finished even when a new one was installed. Once we identify the fault, we have a go at the repair.

The brass replacement gear I bought from AliExpress was: Size: 10T with 1.48mm diameter hole

Hi Shane. Metal gear sourced from Alexpress. The link I used is in the video description - hopefully it still works.
My printer is cp1300 haven’t used it in 2 years but was working fine when put away. Used it recently it’s prints no issues but it squeaks when printing. Does it need oiling or is it the cartridge or just a few run through of prints too stop the squeak. Any help appreciated.

It wouldn't surprise me if the grease used has dried up a little whilst in storage. Most of these mechanical systems like to be used regularly. If you are able to warm it up and run several pages through the noise may reduce - but you don't want to waste the consumables though so it is a tricky problem. I have a small tub of clear synthetic grease I keep to put a small dab onto squeaky mechanisms using a toothpick.
Hi. I've had a CP760 in the cupboard for over a decade and I took it out and it only prints about 2/3 of the photo. And that 2/3 looks fine but the other third is completely blank. The transition is not distinct and I'm printing out a black and white photo which becomes a bit colourful along the wavy edge. The unit previously worked fine. I changed the processing cassette and the paper. Any ideas? Thanks for the tips on taking it apart. I used to work as a tech decades ago, but I was going to throw it in the bin.

@@northbalwynrepaircafenbrc8202 My apologies for asking more questions, I managed to get that size off of amazon but find that the inner diameter is a little too big and the outer diameter is too small. so difficult getting the right size

@@atruceforbruce5388 Sorry to hear about your problem. I re-checked the Aliexpress link and it still works. The size I ordered from this page was 0.3M Modulus, 10T, 1.48mm dia. hole. It was a tight fit - I pressed it home very carefully with my vice, if I remember correctly.
