DeepGameBasketball.com
Being an elite shooter starts with your preparation and, for most players, they think that means ONLY during their training and workout sessions. The truth is, it begins BEFORE the actual workouts and, in today's video, Coach Drew is brining you through a shooting warm up that you can use to lock in your shot-fundamentals prior to getting into your workout or even prior to an actual game. Let us know how it goes the first time you use this drill, our guess is that your shooting percentages will sky rocket! #EGTFamily

Now, how to incorporate this into a layup line or HS warmups? Or, what’s your take on how much time between doing this drill and starting a game?

  • @DeepGameBasketball

Russell -- You could do this at your pre game shoot around, after school before the actual warm ups, etc. It'll be tough to do it during actual warm ups as the other 14 players will be on the court as well.

My son has mastered this drill. He still need confidence and more north to south dribble than going east west. But I believe this is just hesitation anxiety or l.o.c. I'm trying to hey him realize how good he is.

Blakey Shakey It all depends on intensity. If you wanna warm up take it as a warm up. If you wanna make it a workout go harder 🙌🏽 stay up bro 🧡

You improve your stroke playing basketball games. You can practice all day and be all American in practice it don’t mean anything in live games you got defense and contested shots. Game time is where you improve your stroke. You have to find the 5 on 5 run and hoop. warm up locking down playing defense and crashing the boards. warm up with free throws that’s a game shot. offense will come off sets and catch in shoot drive and kick game. So practice game shots and your game spots where you get buckets.

@@DeepGameBasketball I don't miss a video! Probably already watched this one 20x. Just worked on it today, and made sure I was getting the footwork down. The good thing about the stationary warm up here is it teaches our feet to move fast into our shot, which actually creates a faster release from the ground up. I'll be using this as part of my warm up! In addition to Coach Pitino's around the key drill. Thanks 1000!
