It's the Trump effect. Someone who supports CC says something dumb online and these girls act like it's all her fans and that she cultivates a bunch of 'racists' or whatever. It's just pathetic. @@turkeyman631 you have a point definitely a lot of people that go online hate Trump and definitely the media does so if they see anybody that supports Trump talking about the traditional values Kaitlyn Clark, they get angry even though they’re inviting the attention with the unwarranted or hard fouls. Plus she represents middle America and is definitely getting attention because of it considering there aren’t a lot of really good white female players more black at least. Plus, females are passive, aggressive and catty look at the relationships women have with women compared to what men have with men,and then there’s just the racist that don’t like seeing a white female, be the star of the league. She doesn’t check the boxes they want.

And when it comes to the wnba, anyone who'se hating on her are the jealous ones because they aint got the skills to match. Which is understandable. Hype comes from success, not novelty. I wouldnt call Clark a hype if he isnt good enough to be part of Barca, Liverpool or any major teams in Europe. (No offense) But he might be amazing for US standards. I dont know. I dont really know him enough to say if he is or should be. But thats part of his merit to be recognised internationally. Reputation is made by fans. If fans dont care about you (regardless of your skills or otherwise), you aint getting any rep. Merit doesnt fall from the sky ya know. It starts with hype. Hype, creates more fans. fans create reputation. good or bad deppening on your history in the game. Just like Mike Tyson (boxing) and Luis Suarez (soccer) biting someones ear. (both of them did that) Only Mike kept a positive rep. Im dutch. I know alot about merit. If you're good, we dont care what etnicity, skincolor, religion or whatever you are. If you got the skills and play for us, we got your back! However i cannot deny national competitive play. People are bound to target the best player of the team. It happens in soccer all the time. Im sorry for this booklet. I hope i made my point clear. Also, i understand your point and where its coming from (assuming you're American since you referenced Clark). *I ran the numbers and Caitlin Clark deserves the spot given to Kelsey Plum* (who is also a guard). Bird's Formula (attributed to Larry Bird) is calculated using all the available box score data as follows: Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocked Shots - Missed Shots - Missed Free Throws - Turnovers - Personal Fouls. I also divide the B# per game by average minutes played to give the very useful B# per minute. So using that metric, *Caitlin Clark has a B# of 12.60 and B#/min of .387 to Kelsey Plum's 9.90 and .267.* Clark is also ahead of guard Diana Taurasi's 9.8 and .333, but Taurasi does have 19 years in the league. There is also the slightly weird case of guard Chelsea Gray who made the Olympic team despite not having played in 2024 due to a calf injury. She is supposed to return before the Olympics but who really knows. The bottom line is that you can make a case for Clark over three other guards but especially over Plum, unless Plum is a lot better on defense (defense is only captured by Steals and Blocks in the B#).

You're pulling from a limited sample on CC when you say "available box score." You also left out her last horrible game. Look, do not cherry pick your stats. You won't fool anyone. You have also omitted won-loss record of the players respective teams. That indicates the "impact" of those stats on their team. There is a difference between averaging 20pts on a losing team, and averaging 20pts on a winning team. Per minute analysis is as useless as +/- minutes because they are a function of who is on the floor with you at the time. You analysis suffers on so many levels...mainly due to a poor sample size for CC.

The top hoopers loved her game at the college level. But in the W, she's averaging nearly half the points, and she's shooting a diminished percentage of her shots. She's lost a lot of efficiency in her shooting. They, like everyone else, are hoping she can bring...or up...her college game in the W. If you're expecting her college stats to be the same in the W, you have been rudely awakened this year. CC22 will need to improve if her fans think she can repeat her college stats in the W. I think she needs to improve, but unlike her fans, I don't expect her stats to be as great as her college stats. She's in a better league now, with better players. Cut her some slack people. Temper your expectations.

For this to be Taurasi’s 6th olympics, she was CC’s current age when she played in her first Olympics, therefore there’s just no way to argue CC can’t compete right now.

In her first 15 games she was blitzed more than 66 times, that twice what all other players COMBINED received. That's not a bad strategy, just a major point about how fantastic her play is! Add to this she has received more full-court coverage than any other play by many times. Add that context when she set a new record for the number of games to reach 200 pts, 75+ reb, 75+ asst.

In the immortal words of that Great Philosopher, Snoop Dog, who gave us the Universal Truth, that "Gangsta Know Gangsta". A Basketball player recognizes other players, and a Generational Talent like NBA Greats like MJ, Bird, Steph, and others Recognize the same thing in others. Others might and usually do, miss it, but those "Real Legends", not the WNBA type, but the Legends that don't have to call themselves Legends, because the people watching them, appropriately, give them the name. Try this one on....Steph Curry LOVES what CC has done for Women's Basketball, but The Women In the WNBA, aka the Recipients of the good things Caitlin brings to their Sport, Hate Her Guts for doing it.........

STHU about CC because she’s phenomenal and leading in the WNBA rookie right now. They talk about her because they’re jealous. She’s very humble , class act, she graduated with a 3.8 GPA, and she’s worked unbelievably hard to get where she is. She’s been playing since she was a little girl. Her dream is coming true. CC never gets even, she doesn’t start BS and the ones that bad talk her she doesn’t say a word other than “it’s basketball” and if you don’t like it don’t watch her packed arena. She’s just doing her thing. It’s nice to see people having her back. She will stand up to the trash plays

One thing people not familiar with the WNBA forget in their expectations, is that unlike the men, the women draft picks go right from a college season to an pro season. There's no transition, professional development, or recovery period. That's a lot of basketball. She's doing alright considering, but I expect her to be able to shine even more next year.

Women in the WNBA have been complaining about not being paid enough for years. The reason they haven’t been paid much is not because they are female, but because they don’t draw fans in and don’t fill seats. CC is changing that. Other women in the WNBA should be thrilled about that and should raise their level of play as well instead of begrudging her success.
