Lakers 3rd option averaged 18pts last season and broke the franchise record for most 3’s made in a single season. And their fourth option averaged almost 15 points. The only other teams with comparable supporting casts were Boston, Indy, and NY. Lakers paid for their star players already. They just haven’t gotten a return on their investment.

But the Lakers need 3 point shooting, not more midrange and in. They get plenty of that from AD and LeBron. They need players who spread the floor. DeRozan would help keep minutes down for LeBron during the regular season, but he's not what they need in the playoffs.
