that’s true, but it’s also fair to say Mitchell wants to win, and I don’t think he’ll get that in Cleveland unless changes happen. And with the firing of Bickerstaff, the Cavs are babying DMitch so he stays around. Same thing happened with LeBron this week.

I'll just say this for Dallas fans and MacMahon, Naji Marshall is considered to be one of the best SGA defenders in the league, that dude can GUARD. He does have problems with the super fast guards like Ja or Fox but at that point I think you have to consider Kyrie your match up. He played really good defense in the playoffs this year against that type of guard, and even was the primary defender at times against a guy like Jdub

Yeah I agree he’s trippin about Dallas. There is a lot of upside for okc though the additions they made are going to be really impactful. Only thing that makes me nervous about Dallas is the play style, not sure how much Klay will help. When he’s hot they might be unbeatable but he can’t create much anymore. Not that he could even in his prime but now he really is just another spot up shooter. I hope Lively keeps getting better, love his energy

There are 3 teams that know how to build a team in the current NBA and rules. The Spurs, OKC and Boston. Every other team is shooting their shot by wasting all their picks before they have a good team, and then when financial problems come up they just lose meaningful players. You see it with Nuggets, Warriors, Lakers, Suns. With these rules flexibility is key and if you want a great team for more than one title. You need to always have assets, even after you win a title

Steph is someone who deserves to play with one team his entire career however it would suck for him to go out on a lottery team. He should be given the chance to get another ring or two elsewhere and GSW can receive some picks back in return. They can also look to get rid of draymond too

When McMahon and Bontemps are talking about the Celtics ownership 37:00 the Celtics are a grouped owned team led by Grousbeck. I’d expect the other part owners of Boston Basketball LLC to bid more money to get the Celtics, plus another part owner who’d be the lead guy, like how Grousbeck was. So basically, I’d expect a “swap” of Grousbeck to another owner, but Grousbeck is looking to retain governorship, so with the new TV deals, new expansion teams, I could see a deal that the new owner(s) would pay the massive tax bill, and Grousbeck would be willing to take less money just so that means he doesn’t have to pay a massive amount.

The Celtics just proved they don’t need to be the greatest team ever made to win an nba championship… we just need to pay to keep guys who know how to play and make sure we always have a shot. Thats what the fans want. Of course every fan wants to win every year but everyone is going to settle in to the understanding that every CBA keeps changing everything and it’s being done on purpose to help basketball be better and more competitive so new rules will have to be taken in stride.

I love that Tim Bontemps says things like 'as is our network' when he referred to everyone that thinks that the Lakers are always just one piece away from another title when everyone else is scratching their heads, wondering how they can be so completely delusional and yet still manage to function in society. I think it's just another example of modern society's celebration of ignorance and the esteem that seems to come with being wrong about everything and yet believing that you're a genius. I mean, they're absolutely everywhere.

Having 12 quality rotation players is honestly only good if your team experiences long injury absences. Otherwise, it’s kind of overkill. You can only play 5 guys at a time and in the playoffs, rotations shrink to 7/8
