NBA Draft First-Round Reactions With Tate Frazier and J. Kyle Mann| NBA Draft Show | Ringer NBA

Спорт

KOC, J. Kyle Mann, and Tate Frazier get together to react to the first round of the NBA draft! They start by diving into the odd Spurs-Timberwolves trade that will send prospect Rob Dillingham to Minnesota and two very future first-round picks back to San Antonio (00:30). Next, they discuss which selected prospects they think will bust (11:30), as well as their favorite team-player fits from the first round (25:48). Also, the guys briefly preview the second round and discuss some of their favorite prospects still left on the board (56:30).

My guess is that the Spurs are stockpiling draft picks to give them the ability to trade for an all-star in the next couple years. But they could have kept Dillingham and developed him, then made him the centerpiece of a trade.

Developing Dilly as a ball-handling PG means taking it away from everyone else, including Victor. Also he's bottom 1% on the defensive end, he'll get exposed often and most likely have the value of a spark plug off the bench. He can definitely be the centerpiece of a trade to an And-1 squad, tho, he's got those skills on lock.

Seems like they want to tank for a pick and allow victor to play as the main guy again without needing to share the ball with someone else who needs to develop and get up shots...the 2 players style wise may have clashed and hurt each other growth wise...salaun made more sense for them

The trade of Poeltl to Toronto was only enabled because of the Kawhi trade to Toronto which got Derozen and Poeltl to the Spurs where Poeltl was just a throw in young guy, and that trade was only possible because the 15th pick which the Spurs used to select Kawhi as George Hill was traded to the Pacers for that pick. If ANT doesn't get a ring by age 25/26 then he's 100% going to start making gestures at leaving to "pursue winning" before that last year of his deal at age 27.
