In fairness to Risacher being "not a great athlete, but athletic", " not really a creator", and not an incredible defensive player ... All of that describes Jayson Tatum as a prospect. Tatum's selling point was basically isolation scoring and now he's primarily a straight line drive and step back guy. Tatum is really the blueprint for both Risacher and Salaun that if you have a big wing who can shoot, you can build out the rest of his game because that combination of size, fluid athleticism and touch is really easy to build around But every guy in the top 13 is kind of boom or bust except Clingan

Wouldn't be surprised if Presti is going the route of a MLB system with a new CBA. Draft for upside & give a few years to develop and reach their potential, hopefully. Would makes sense given how stingy he seems to be when giving up picks & the small market they are in. Considering he wanted a future backup PG - or perhaps a different starting option next to Shai - I like the choices, even if they don't pan out.

This was never a bad draft… it’s just that today’s NBA guys don’t watch college basketball. And the top of the draft was bad because they picked poor European players. The top pick looks like a young Nick Batum. Their talking about his elite athleticism and all of his highlights are underneath the rim… lol The players from 20 to the end of the 1st round were better than the lottery picks.

This is a terrible draft. Even the college guys aren't great. Clingan should have been the first pick. He's an elite rim protector and that skill is better than anybody else's skill in this draft. Even the foreign guys don't have a lot of upside and were weak in their Euro leagues
