I love the controls 4 2k13 becuz it's like dribbling with left n right hands so it's a little easier. The controls 4 2k12, 2k13 and 2k14 are almost the same, but very different so sometimes you forget them if you don't play them enough. If you hold to the L2 trigger on some moves you end up doing fancy passing (which is a little irritating) but most moves can be so effective. Oh by the way in the vid I loved the Jordan fancy layup at the end....it looked like the same layup he did in the game against the Lakers (You did it against the Lakers so it was like seeing it for real) I love how 2k make it seem so real; that's why I love NBA2K.

In the beginning of the vid I mention that the layups can be done without using the LT and RS but to keep the video uniform I stuck with it.

at about 7:00 I explain that moves like the Jamal Crawford layup are completely situation/animation based (I still hope they're wrong) and I was told that there is no actual reliable way to manually perform that move by the developers. I'll keep trying but it may not work every time.

This game is built around situational animations more than any other 2K game. Most of the moves you do will be determined by the players around you rather than your command. Unfortunately that's what the devs have told me however manual signature moves may be a possibility in 2K14.

hey shake, nice vid. You'd help me win a lot more games if you could tell me how to do Steve nash's signature scoop layups. I dominated with nash in 2k12 cuz those are so impossible to time a block to, but I have yet to see him try one once in 2k13. Are all the layup package layups totally situational? It's frustrating, cuz he'll have space to get the scoop off but when he takes the normal layup he gets his shit beat to the 8th row.

HEY SHAKE You know how in past 2k's you would point the right stick in the direction AWAY from the defender when altering a shot in mid-air is that how it works in 13 because last year it was the opposite point the stick into the defender.

I use the Clippers, and I like to face up from the low post and drive to the basket. If I get cut off, I like to use the spin layup, but a lot of times, I get the spin jumper instead. How can I make sure I get a spin layup and not a spin jumper? I've tried using B and twirling the stick, and both make me do the spin jumper more often than not

to do any layup packages, toward the baseline, hole LT and flick the RS up twice. (I do my Crawford layup all the time)

As good as that move looks, it's very unpredictable. I wouldn't put too much effort into forcing it to work by your command because it's more random than it looks. Even in my tutorial it took me a long time to get those different clips. 2K14 should be more user friendly with specific "Go To" moves.

I play on ps3 and every time I try the fake pass layup all he does is pump fake. I drive towards the baseline and hold L2 while flipping the left stick towards the half court line.. should I be pressing something else also?

Yo shake, just a heads up. For the hop step you can go LT -> double tap right stick and for the euro step you can go LT -> left -> right tap on right stick. I think doing the euro with the right stick gives you more control on the direction of the steps, so try that out.
