@DmanUnt2014 I see and hear everything. I also see how fast your channel is growing. The youth needs more brothas like yourself to listen to. Keep setting that good example. Because you don't just succeed for yourself anymore.
I have a pretty beast Post Up Tutorial coming out very soon too. And quite a few signature move vids as well. Stay tuned.
Great stuff Shake!
You really helped me improve on MyPlayer, thanks for the tutorial!
@keafyent Yeah, that was the animation. I'll have some more tutorials coming out soon. For the new year.
@keafyent A back court violation happens when you cross that center solid line. Once you advance beyond it you are now on the side of the court you wish to score on, if you go back behind that center line it is called a "back court" violation. This rule is to ensure people don't abuse the entire length of the basketball court.
In order to dunk just switch out LT for RT. Or L2 for R2. And yes doing the layups I've shown in this video will work great for Derek Rose.
@SvetliCola That'll be discussed in my shooting tutorial coming up next. It's where your player is most comfortable shooting at. When it fills up, that's his hot spot.
I've got a new one coming out. Post up Tutorial. Coming soon.
@tyneebi99z that means you're engaged on defense with the ball handler. You now make shorter steps so it's harder for them to shake you. It's not perfect but you just have to be quick with the controls.
Good tutorial shake, that was a hot beat also, Thanks for the mention too I didnt even know you seen my tutorials lol...peace homie
I just got this game..I know..late to the party!!..but you really make a very nice video, you present it well, speak really clear...you explain all the moves really nice that i can follow and practice with ease..thanks for making this video, and I will have a look at your other vids..
Best 2k tutor by miles! Keep it up man
@baseupp12 They never actually saw him play. He hit like 23 out of 25 three pointers at a tryouts. They just signed him from there. lol. He truly was one of the greatest.
it's because you're not finishing the move. It probably happens more often when you do a hop step. Just continue to move the right stick in the direction you want. You initiate the animation but executing the command & then you finish it by using the right stick again.
@TheLolsteven he's on the bench for one of the older Bulls Teams. His ratings are throught the roof though.
@FootballFanatic141 you could but what mode do you normally play? If it's my player then you need to get your layup and shoot in traffic ratings up.
@419TGOD Thanks for adding that. I left it out purposely because reversals seem to miss a lot and for some reason people don't understand "the baseline". lol. I tried to keep it simple.
@ImproVPp If you hold LT while passing with those guys they tend to do those slick around the back passes. Not all the time though and sometimes it's situational.
@ImproVPp make sure you have a good inside scoring and layup rating. Notice the guys I used in this vid have a 99 overall layup and inside scoring rating.
Again, thanks for taking the time to make these videos... very helpful.
@FootballFanatic141 make sure you're doing layups with people that can do them really well. Otherwise, contested shots usually end up a miss.
Well done. Keep the tutorials coming Man. Thanks so much :)
Good stuff shake!
yo your one of the best 2k12 players out of all the commentators good work bro
i love your vids keep up the good work
Love your NBA vids!!!
This tutorial is the best I have ever seen! Thanks so much!
@QJB Means a lot coming from the best editor on youtube.
@keafyent Not sure. I mean, there are a lot of rules. I suggest using Google and watching basketball on Television. Every time a call is made that you don't understand, type in Google "what is...." That should help.
These videos are mad helpful man thanks
@gonzalixmc The PS3 controls are the same as Xbox 360. Just substitute LT for L2 and RT for R2. Same thing.
And I'm glad you're not hiding from a mistake like that. You're the man. Thanks for the vid.
@LMoney11KWill22Vids some of those are situational. But some like Crawford's are just the way he does his hop step layups.
good info Shake!
great videos dude thanks a lot helped me a ton
@jawan2k no problem.
2K12 is the hardest 2K I've ever played. In the case of highly contested layups, just try to know your defender. Not much I can tell you. You can try changing your layup package but I still have the same problems.
try going into advanced controls and seeing how to do a runner. Then maybe practicing it in shoot-around. I like to do a few scrimmages first too before I test a move out in a real game.
@xxxBEASTLYxxxx I have no idea. Out of all the people that have seen that intro, I've been hoping someone would come along with the actual song.
doing great.
yo man u earned your self a new sub this really helped me out on my player mode new sub earned!
like always great video
You are the only commentator that i will watch make a video about how to do layups in a video game. Good Job and keep it up.
Great vid shake, keep up the good work my man. By the way, what do you think of the new NBA Legends dlc?
@7Saint0wnz9you How about this... Jordan vs Kobe Jumpshot tutorial next? Stay Tuned
absolutely.
thanks man this helped. learned more about the iceman that i never knew as well
@CommishAzure I hear you Azure. The My Player mode has me raging this year.
@BamBoJam yes, I have an Ultimate Shooting Tutorial
The higher your layup rating the more layups he's capable of doing. I suggest changing his layup package too. But the main thing is just being smart about your layups.
don't hold turbo. Just LT and flip the RS away from the basket. Make sure you're a good distance from the rim and you must have forward momentum to the rim.
I loved it it's really going to help.
@Rocknch0p Hey brotha, thanks for coming through.
thanks man really helped me out on my player
@MrDuBears One of the 80's Bulls teams.
@CaLiiKiiD22 it's in the description
Great tutorial Shake.....
your player will change hands sometimes but most of the time he'll do a layup with the wrong hand.
@JoshysHomeMadeVideos no, RT is sprint.
thanks a lot.
@ShakeDown2012 Thanks man :D
this helped me alot i have an athletic pf and i found it hard to get into the paint because im 6'10" but the hopstep and the eurostep really helped thank u shake down
Good looking out!
Shake we need for you to do this on 2k13 please. I really enjoyed how u did this for 2k12. Helped me a lot. Keep up the good work fam.
@TankMacnamara81 I mean, it's the only way to have "total" control over your moves.
yo shakedown you the man
@hooper4life12 very true.
@baseupp12 Gervin because he really made that finger roll special. But man, Dr. J was no slouch.
I've heard many people mention that throughout the comments. I'm not sure what the problem is though.
great video, helps a lot ;)
I have a Rajon Rondo vid coming out, then an MW3 vid then a GRFS
sort of. But the shot stick gives you total control.
Thank for the quick reply. I'll be trying out the move after work
@rayxlive yes
Coming very soon Magma.
nice
@ShakeDown2012 lol I been subscribed for over a year now, I probably just missed it thanks
@gladiols hey no problem gladiols.
great tutorial + clear voice.. thanks for reply my question in jeremy lin in update roster
Love your intro
@47MichaelB Thanks for subscribing yo
nice video shake
@TimHowardII yeah, I wish they had his Spurs team. And as far as his finger roll, watch his old highlights on KZread. Then watch an NBA game and see how many finger rolls like Ice Man you see in a game. My opinion, None.
@homeslice6336 exactly.
I actually benefited from this one. I dont consider myself a "great" 2K player but this year the game pisses me off so bad; I forget moves at times. Great tutorial as always.
that's just it, if you can't do them on command I can't do a tutorial on it. 2K's College Hoops 2008 was the last 2K basketball that gave you full control over your passing.
@RayAndPES Inside scoring.
@256YoungSavage wow, I get that a lot.
It's called Yellow Brick Road. And he sent that beat to me exclusively.
I'm sorry bro but until they change the controls to where you can do dunks & layups on command, we're stuck with games like this. Nothing I can really do in that department.
@ADUBB523 Doesn't look too interesting. Although I'm still going to download it.
@iLogikGaming check description
to some degree. But you really aught to heighten your shooting in traffic & layup ability.
I just bought the game. Thanks!
how did you do that?
Not really, contact is contact. If they're in front of you, you just have to hope your man has good layup skills and can score in traffic.
yeah, you aught to go check out my channel history. I've already put a few out.
really appreciated the help man u makin these vid 4 2k13 too????
Man good stuff gotta give it for SHOWDOWN he's givin out tips for free, i do this for Madden but its tuff to give out tips for free i labbed this last night couldnt get it down now i got it how to hopstep!!! Thanks bruh!! Im known as ANN ARBOR MI in the Madden world!!!
