This is one of my favourite opening scenes in any movie it does what a good opening scene should do: intrudece the audience to the tone and feel of the movie, introduce some of the main characters and keep the viewer engaged so that they would want to see the rest of the movie and not just leave or turn it off after the opening. Also the acting and special effects are pretty good, especially for the year this was released.

Well that was Rasputin's plan. The Nazis were fooled, Kroenen was his mole in the SS, and the girl was madly in love with him. He failed to get the Russian occult to serve his chaos gods in ww1, he got the Nazis to use their advanced tech to make him a hand of doom and portal, but his plan was foiled at the last second, and the third try the world grew stagnant with peace so he didn't need to trick a nation to do his work for him and there was already a boy from hell walking around with his own hand of doom, he just needed to convince him to open the portal.
