Navy SEALs Rescue Mission Against Enemy Rebels | Navy Seals S1 EP1 | Wonder

Ойын-сауық

In October 1983, rebel soldiers take over the island Commonwealth of Grenada. There is no time to gather intelligence, plan details or rehearse the assignments. In a perfect world, SEAL units try to get in, do their work and leave before the shooting begins. But not here.

I was in high school when this happened, it influenced me to join the Marine Corps in the 0300 MOS regardless of my high ASVABs...turned down a gauranteed contract for legal services which would have gave me an opportunity to finish my Bachelor's and prepare for Law School. Don't regret my decision 1 bit. Years later as a director, an employee personally thanked me for us liberating his country, he remembered fleeing Kuwait w/his parents to Saudi when Sadaam invaded. Crazy experience, but just hearing a heartfelt thank you was worth it.

Wow, did they take part in the mistaken attack on the hospital where almost 50 citizens, doctors and nurses were murdered? Between the innocent victims and 15 SEALS it was a pathetic military blunder where people died for nothing. A couple of Cubans contracted by residents as police were murdered, a great accomplishment by the U.S. against a tiny island with less guns that a herd of home-skooled rednecks. Every death there was a tragedy, none more than men who joined to defend their country, not invade innocent ones

I am a retired Advertising Account Executive, who served in the advertising industry for 45 years. At the time of the insurrection in Grenada in 1983, I had the privilege of traveling to Grenada to do business. At that time, I was familiar with the political landscape and happenings in that island, and never for one moment expected such an up-rising. However, one must always expect the unexpected, where politics is concerned. It is amazing the quickness in which the American Seals captured the situation and brought the island back to civility and democratic rule. Hats off to those brave and courageous soldiers. Since then, Grenada has maintained a relatively “peaceful” life and status quo under the leadership of Dr. Keith Mitchell.

No. It wasn't 14 SEALs who died. There were only 4 (FOUR), SEALs, and they did not die in combat. It was by accident. The US Armed Forces led the invasion of more than 8,500 soldiers. Grenada is a tiny island that did not have, and does not have today, Army, Navy, Air Force, USMC, SEALs, Green Berets, Rangers, Delta Force, Rambos, or Chuck Norris. NADA! They only fought 287 Police Officers. And not even that, but with half the Policemen... cuz the other half still did not go to work the afternoon shift. The invasion and the armed combat lasted only 6 hours. How much heroism!

Define losing and winning a war? Korea seems successful as we didn't didn't fight the North Koreans but also the Chinese and then also Russian pilots were getting involved. And there still is a South Korea thank God. Vietnam was lost not due to military failure but politian failures. Vietnam was the 1st war that was controlled by politicians who were worried about making decisions to be able to get re-alected. Middle East was not a war based on pushing a country out of the area or a military out of a certain area, but tracking and killing just certain groups of people rather than a military.

my dad once told me that if Your unlucky enough too be in a explosion and the Rescuers can find is one or two pieces of You they'll bury one or two pieces in the coffin along with some of your personal effects. but i am a massive Motorsport fan if there's one thing and only thing i can choose to hate about Motorsport it's that when a serious shunt happens the driver fan camera person track marshall pit crew member dies they usually have too face death alone. these four Seals died together. they faced the hardest thing in to face up to and be brave as You can be and show Your Ancestors that Your good enough for heaven. these four Seals may be separated by miles apart by now they will always be together in life and in death. in one way these four Men are closer to one another than anyone else on this planet is to anyone else on this planet. and i would bet these four Seals are some of the best Guardian Angels ever all war and non-war Heroes are.

Bad call dropping those guys off and rough seas in the middle of the night. I surfed most of my life and been in 12 foot heavy surf so I know what it’s like and can’t imagine having all that gear how tough it would be no matter how strong of a swimmer these guys are, This mission should have been planned out better even though it was time sensitive, seals are way too valuable to lose over bad calls like that.

If the seals headed to Granada as the narrator keeps saying they would have ended up in the wrong part of the world instead of Grenada where they were supposed to be. This is an example of the level of incompetence that led to so many US casualties.
