I retired to the Destin area and am familiar with both areas. One thing many retirees do not think about is if you are looking at downsizing you are competing against a tremendous amount of people in Subsidized Housing. With the strong military presence these people have a large housing allowance which helps them pay for both rental property and their home.

I'm looking to move to somewhere in that general area thinking maybe crestview or niceville, just for reference. Looking for somewhere that's affordable. Won't be able to buy but looking for a rental or a place to park a tiny house. I don't know anything about the area except what I've learned from watching your channel. Any suggestions for a 38 year guy that is single and free.

Both areas have pretty strong hospitals nearby. I don't know which one of the cities is better firsthand though. Most of our hospitals in this entire area are rated pretty high in general.

Are people racist over there? Me and my wife are Hispanic in the airforce and we might get station in hulburt field :'( if we do by the info I seen niceville is the best option but I'm a little think full of how racist USA is we currently in Ramstein airbase.

Ramstein, I'm jealous! I always thought a Germany duty station would have been cool (although it wasn't an option for me due to my aircraft not being there). As far as racism in our area I'm sure that any area is going to have some racist around, but that's definitely not the experience that I have had. I also don't know of anybody personally that has ever said that people were racist to them around here. I was a military brat and And then I join the military as well so I've moved around a ton, about every two years until I became a realtor here in the area, and I can't say with 100% honesty that this is probably one of the least racist places I have ever lived. By a big margin too, I've lived in areas where they're definitely had racial undertones, but this area is not one. Especially with it being so heavy military and with it being military it's a big melting pot of everybody, so if you're around the bases or anywhere in our area for that matter, you shouldn't have to deal with any of that.

@@LifeOnTheEmeraldCoast I appreciate you took your time to answer and yes Ramstein was awesome I wanted to stay 4 more years but they didn't let my wife extend the time so they are sending us to the States but we have never lived in the States we went directly from Puerto Rico(our home) to Germany hehe, but thanks for your answer now I feel a little more relieved hehe I was looking for info about Navarre and niceville and you helped with what i needed to know we are not the party type hehe we prefer family and calmness of niceville like you mention in your video.

@@sonneillionx7705 Niceville is definitely a "nice" place to live lol. For families, it is my number 1 pick so long as the prices don't scare you off. They are a bit pricier out there over some of our other cities, and most of that is due to the school and community as a whole. When are y'all slotted to be down in the area?

@@sonneillionx7705 Yeah we've seen that too, that they tell them one date then change it. My sister and her husband are active duty here at Eglin Air Force Base, And they were given one set of orders, complete too, it wasn't just soft orders like they had it in hand. And then 3 weeks later they canceled him and moved it somewhere else. When I was active duty that rarely happened, but it seems to be happening more and more lately. May is a great timeline to purchase, I believe we will have the first and maybe even the second big rate drop before me. At least that's what their estimating, nobody has a crystal ball but that's what our lender partners are telling us will happen. So you might go to great rate and hopefully we'll be able to get in before the bidding wars happen
