NATUREEL #09: Adapting to conditions

Фильм және анимация

Something different. On a recent trip to my hometown, Inverell, I photographed Australasian Darters catching fish at Lake Inverell and being tormented by Little Black Cormorants that tried-sometimes successfully-to steal the fish caught by the darters.
It was a wonderful opportunity for wildlife action photography...when there was sufficient light to facilitate fast shutter speeds. But you had to be quick! The darters were used to being persecuted by the cormorants and swallowed their fish as soon as possible after surfacing, to avoid the attention of the vigilant thieves.
Early in the morning, before we left Inverell, I went to the lake again. It was dull and overcast and unsuitable for action-freezing shutter speeds. Determined to make the most of my final session, I changed tactics and shot with slow shutter speeds to capture motion-blurred birds (blurds!). These images won't suit everyone's taste. There are a few that I like.
The main soundtrack is "Swerve" licensed from smartsound.com and composed by Aaron Willis. The prelude soundtrack is "Makeshift dream" licensed from smartsound.com and composed by Kellie Bryarly.

Thanks, Barb. I suppose so. Anything to keep it interesting and avoid stagnation. Or defeat!
