Jens Stoltenberg says NATO has failed to deliver weapons to Ukraine 'in good time'. He made the remarks during an unannounced visit to Kyiv on Monday. NATO's Secretary-General says Russia has exploited Ukraine's battlefield disadvantage - but insisted it's not too late for Kyiv to win the war - which is now in its third year. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for his part, urged Washington to speed up its weapons deliveries.

Because they would get shot down. Ukraine had a large number of aircrafts. Probably still does. But it takes insane amount of supressing the defences for planes to fly. Russians can (barely) do it. Ukrainians can't.

Training. You don't just hop into an F16 and start flying like its a game. You also don't just open fill the tank and its ready to fly again - they need extensive maintenance done by specialists. In a normal situations these skills take years to learn and that it when you have teachers that speak your own language. They will come when they are ready.

Finally a formal recognition from someone with power in the matter. People all over the globe have been calling this out from the start of the war. Let's see if the lessons were really learned and supporting nations will grow a spine and walk the talk.
Putin will not let that to happen
Weapons are no substitute to motivated manpower. World's largest military with over $750bn defense budget could not help US win the war in Afghanistan. Its NATO allies under Article 5 also couldn't prevent its defeat & ignominious expulsion from Afghanistan. Ukraine can not win this war because Zelensky is fighting US proxy war & Russia is fighting war of its existence to prevent NATO from reaching its most susceptible warmer border with Ukraine through which Russia has seen massive invasions every century losing 2.5 million men in WW2 alone. This war has now only one end result: Destruction & division of Ukraine and serious economic & social consequences for EU. No amount of weapon induction can change this fate, it can only worsen it.

NATO has never been a threat to Russian security or way of life...but has been and will continue to be a threat to Russian revanchism and its mythological idea of history, of itself , and of it's place in the world. You saw real breakthrough when Ukraine took back all hundreds of square miles and Russians drowned in the rivers while retreating. 17 kilometres in 2 years is not a breakthrough, especially if all that is gained is another already destroyed village. It's a breakthrough when Russians can advance unhindered for miles and miles and miles. Not like these tiny advances. This is a joke of a breakthrough, they can't even supply and muster a follow-up push. They just stop after one village. lol

You are delusional if you think it is Ukraine that is refusing to negotiate. Russia invaded unprovoked and has made 0 attempts to have good-faith peace negotiations. None of the regions that they claim to have annexed were majority ethnically Russian before the war, apart from Crimea. This is a land grab.

It was the only proposed path to victory for Ukraine since day 1, given the population disparity. They have to inflict 4:1 or better casualty rate and that's before factoring in how difficult it is for Ukraine to find willing cannon fodder. So yeah, they're going to bring that up every time otherwise they have to admit that Ukraine was never going to win.

I guess every eastern journalist is afraid to face the truth. You guys are losing close to a thousand men a day. You're losing 7-10 times as many as Ukrainians. How long do you think you can keep that up?
This drama is not playing out well for Ukrainians who are losing families and love one, sending weapons to Ukraine to be use in Ukrainian soils is a win to us and nato. I pity all those who have anything to lose in the proxy war

No need. Look at the frontline map. Russia has barely advanced in over a year. The news likes to hyper-fixate on small villages with populations under 1000 being lost. At the current rate, it will take years for Russia to conquer the territories they claim to have annexed. Just a tragedy that so many lives have to be lost for nothing.

It's sad to hear that Ukrainians are continuously losing soldiers and territories in this war of attrition. However, it's almost a hard-to-avoid result when one is fighting against a much bigger and stronger enemy. Yes, Ukraine has powerful allies behind her. But unfortunately many of her allies are debating too much, hesitating and timid.

Pro tip: People can analyze the war without supporting either side and just because they predict one side or the other is going to prevail in a particular battle or the entire war doesn't mean that they support that side. It means that they can do some basic math and are willing to make predictions that are supported by that math, barring unforeseen circumstances. If I think Russia is most likely going to win because they have 4x the population and a nuclear arsenal that doesn't mean I support Russia, it means I'm looking at the situation realistically.
Vachyslav has a valuable skill set, regardless of his lack of hands and feet, he is a mechanic. He would make a strong teacher / trainer mechanic. I truly hope the best for him.

That war is lost for Ukraine. Western countries made so many fine speeches about supporting Ukraine, but in reality they never fully delivered on it. Ukraine won't lose. They are perhaps the most resourceful and innovative people in the world right now. Even without Western aid for Ukraine, Russia only gained 5 km and only in one spot. But our delays prolong the suffering, and that is shameful! The question isn't whether or not Ukraine will win, but whether they will still want anything to do with us when they do.
