It's even worse for Germany that that report was made even before the mass graves were found showing signs people had been buried alive, the systematic murder of WCK workers, international press had been kicked out and more.

This should not have come as a surprise. Back in February 2024: "More than 800 officials from the United States and Europe have signed a scathing criticism of Western policy towards Israel and Gaza, accusing their governments of possible complicity in war crimes." This isn't new news, this is a long time coming.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the evening of May 20, stating that "France supports the International Criminal Court and its independence and supports the fight against impunity under all circumstances." The statement also said that France has been warning for months about the need to strictly abide by international humanitarian law, "especially in the Gaza Strip, where the number of civilian casualties is unacceptable and humanitarian aid is lacking."

The other high international court, the ICJ also provided the UK with a list of British citizens who commited war crimes in Gaza. Conveniently, the local police and judiciary decided to ignore that.... one of these individuals on that list was the soldier who had a viral video, where he went through the underwear drawer of a woman who was forced out of her home. I personally believe that some EU countries like Spain or Ireland will respect the ICJ decisions and warrents, others.... like Germany or the UK will probably ignore it....

The suggestion that he should have announced the request for arrest warrants on different days is absurd. Can you imagine the outrage if he had asked for arrests of only one of the groups involved? Eventually prosecutor is making a hash of the ICC. If Israel is put in the same category as hamas, then other countries facing terrorist threat will be on the defensive and terrorist emboldened. Which country will like to get its sovereignty curtailed in matters on national defense and security of its citizens.

And why wasn’t Vladimir Putin indicted for the siege of Mariupol, despite the ICC already running a process against him? The exact same methods of war is applied, with thousands of dead as a result, but for some reason the ICC only goes after Israel. It’s really odd the priorities of the ICC prosecution.

@@mashkanyc ICC accepted an application, although I did not find out exactly from whom, and included them in ICC membership. That's a fact, but still very complicated when it comes to a case brought against any Israeli in Gaza or the West Bank. However, it cuts both ways, if upheld, then the ICC has jurisdiction over any acts by individuals, including those by Hamas and Palestinians.

Hostages have not been released. So what does the ICC expect nations to do when attacked or when citizens are under threat or taken Hostages. What is fair conduct of war and what is not. Who decides? Should armies have refrees with them. Who could qualify as referees. ICC should first issue habeas corpus for hostages release.

Answers to your questions: - the ICC expects that they follow the law - conduct should be in compliance with international humanitarian law - yes armies should have referees/legal council and all (combat) personel should be carefully instructed before they are deployed

Crooked voice 😖 Thanks for the subs. Not buying that equivalence between Israel and Hamas was implied just because they announced those warrant requests together. The fact that both sides are accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity is not a blanket statement about one being just as bad as the other, and one side being responsible for the current war is also irrelevant in this matter, if you're guilty of such crimes you're guilty no matter what the circumstances.

well I find it surprising that the interviewer has the guts to ask about syria and iran without mentioning about Libya where the US went in and massacred lots of Libyans without a UN mandate and doing the same in Iraq or Afghanistan. How hypocritical on her part to ask questions about Syria when we have evidence and witnesses from the West about what the US did in Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. On that note, senator Graham mentioned that he wanted to sanction ICC to make sure US soldiers who commit war crimes are not dragged in front of ICC !!!!
