@@polydactylproductions6787 Is the axe head hardened when you buy it? How well does it hold an edge?
Nice kit. Nice Hawk. The pipe Hawk was used in peace negotiations because it demonstrates a level of trust when you hand your former enemy a weapon. If he smokes it, instead of killing you with it, it demonstrates his sincerity for peace. A win win.

So either kill the host after he hands you this pipe-a-hawk or smoke with him,😂, dumb ars,
Very good. Congratulations. Beautiful Tomahawk. I just saw it on Bladeforums. Greetings from the south of Brazil.

Thanks! The manual came with the kit from Track of the Wolf. I think pewter on hawks is cool but it wasn't the look I was going for and I am just not skilled enough to work with molten metal.
i got one from track of the wolf also, it is slightly different looking then yours, albeit still quite nice.

The wood is curly maple. When you scorch it with fire it brings out the striped patterns like that. It's a great wood.

Question, what did you use to toast it? Blow torch? Torch type lighter? Heat gun? Candle? I am about to toast my handle and am thinking what would give me the best result.....? Maybe i am over-thinking the process because all fire toasts the wood the same? I am not sure.... Thank you!@@polydactylproductions6787
Question, 1:15 here. WHen i am hardening the handle with fire like that, did you wet the wood first or put any oil or are you putting the raw sanded unfinished wood to the fire? I just put dry and sanded wood to the fire like that? I just wanted to make sure that theres isnt anything i am missing. Thank you.

I carefully toasted the wood, then sandws it smooth. After that I oiled it with boiled linseed oil.

ok thanks, thats what i will try then.@@polydactylproductions6787
Oh one more question. SHould i toast the handle before i do the final fitting for the head, or fit the head perfect, then take it off and then toast the handle? I am thinking heating the handle might make the size change thus affecting the fit of the wood to the metal axe head.

Roast it and sand first. It does shrink but you should still have plenty of material left to fit it properly.
