Scavengeology 101 Episode 1: 18th Century Pipe Tomahawks!

Our blog: scavengeology.com/blog/
Our Facebook: / scavengeology
My first attempt at doing an educational (or time wasting) video. Of course I used my favorite historical item for our first video: the truly American pipe tomahawk. Link to the blog post with the pics from the video: scavengeology.com/scavengeolog...
A blend of native and european influences, which came together on the American 18th century frontier. A look at several original pipe tomahawks in the Scavengeology collection.

It’s the two most important tools in one. A weapon and a bowl… war and peace.

That spontoon tomahawk is amazing! Love the facets on the bowl. What are the overall weights on these tomahawks? I understand the reproduction handles might not be “accurate” for what the original weight might have been, but I am very curious how lightweight these were. Thanks for this great video!

@@paigeashtonjackson154 Yeah that was cool! He seems happy with the Empress. The historic examples were inspiration for our designs--the weight and size is especially important to capture the combative capabilities of the originals.

@@paigeashtonjackson154 we make everything in small batches. Right now Empress Tomahawks are available, but Backrippers are out of stock and we have an order list on the next 3 batches--3rd batch has some openings and should be ready in July. After that we hope to be caught up and have them available in the store.
