Totally spot off Freddie! You’re in the entertainment business, if your sport isn’t “entertaining” as it was with the 5 overtime races, no one watches and you don’t have the millions of dollars to spend on race cars. I agree it might not be the most fair but it’s the current rules and you have to plan for it. Everyone knew it was going more than one green white checker when you had the 5 lining up behind the 11 diving off into turn 1.

If you didn't like the end of that race, you not a true Nascar fan. It kept me on the edge of my seat...

It was'Cool' to see TJ on the Broadcast & to hear him on the restarts

my take on this is the 5 restart attempts are directly the result of the current points system. drivers aren't rewarded for achiving a "ok" finish by racing smart and making sound decisions. instead we have this all or nothing system where a win puts a bad team into the "playoffs" and wrecking and coming up 35 has no consequence if you have already won , or have no chance of pointing into the "playoffs" . i understand rewarding winning but you can do that by awarding a considerable amount of points for wins , those points should not negate very poor results in 5 races.

Late afternoon thunderstorms are common in the South, let's start the races at 1pm EDT.

@@kizane21actually many other podcast do just fine with it. It’s called sending recording equipment with the podcast host when they travel. There is no excuse for a company this big to be recording on 2002 laptop quality. It’s not acceptable.

As a fan I was quite happy with the entertainment that all the restarts and added turmoil brought, because not my race cars and not my money.

So Larson needed to spin out when Hamlin was throwing a tantrum and beating his bumper off undercaution. Apparently it takes spinning out for it to be an issue.

Hey, Mike Davis...when Jr is at his beach place, his audio is terrible. Same with TJ and Freddie. Not sure if you guys have heard, but people have figured out how to do podcasts, Zoom calls, etc with good audio. It costs about $27.

@@johnhaas2523 Not sure what you're saying. Mike Davis doesn't handle the audio? I know. But he's in charge of Dirty Mo Media or whatever the name is. He would probably have the authority to buy a couple of decent mics to give to Jr, Freddie, TJ, etc so that they could travel with them. Or to delegate that responsibility to someone with less on their plate. Or Jr, Freddie, and TJ could take some initiative and buy them by themselves.

Freddie, in reference to your first 5 or 6 minutes, you're telling me that end of the race you're going to tell Bubba to back off to potentially improve his position with 2 to go? Sure Gragson and Cindric are idiots BECAUSE they wrecked, but you can't fault them or anyone in the back for running for position! It's the end of the race and that's how racing goes. Unfortunate it took that long to figure out, and your team owner had to pit and then Busch and Chastain had their days ruined, but... that's racing.

On Kyle and Denny, they right now are the best drivers week to week. So they are naturally going to tussle and do their part to make NASCAR look good. We have to remember it’s a show and we have to have talking about the race till the race, even better when we talk about it for weeks

Joey's not my driver,but the cautions were what gave him a chance to win, one person leading the whole race,not good ,l like the race not boring

Larson was talking about a fuel pressure warning like tj said not an actual low fuel light.. they see the fuel pressure light and can pretty much say it low of fuel

Bring back last weeks host. Much better conversation flow and way less dramatic.....

Why on restarts at end of race only do top 10 cars and every extra restart cut 2-4 cars out then run it! Creates space for air and the ability to race without the back of the pack crashing

Instead of GWC can’t they just with 50 to go stop counting caution laps against the full lap total

I checked out the Paragon site that TJ mentioned and realized these spotters are very wealthy to be able to afford this stuff 😅

NASCAR is a television show, the point of television is to provide entertainment. That ending was pure entertainment, don't care what the traditionalist say.

TJ Majors needs to retrain Freddie on Yellow Flags in NASCAR. The Yellow Flag is for the Show and any Safety incurred is just a wonderful byproduct. The NASCAR Show requires the rerack.( Stages,Green White Checkers , Stages and the Playoffs. All of these things hurt credibility. Welcome to NASCAR. P.S. I agree with Freddie.

No OT restarts: OR: only top 10 or 20 drivers participate in the restart, or bigger penalties for drivers who cause wrecks during these restarts, including any driver who runs out of gas or backs everyone up trying to run on used-up tires??

Not a good advertisement for NASCAR drivers being ‘the best there is’. Seriously though why are people fighting so hard to make up a coup,e of spots but risk losing 20/30 points due to a crash.

From memory, I don't think so. I think he had already pretty much stopped, thus was probably 15th or so when the caution came out, then he got passed some more. NASCAR is the most inconsistent organization I've ever seen. And no matter what issue arises, they seem to always address it in the most idiotic way possible...or if they do come up with a good idea, it's 20 years too late.

When a college football game has 5 overtimes it’s an “instant classic” but when NASCAR has 5 overtimes there’s a problem? I don’t get it. It was a great race with an exciting finish and, most importantly, the fans got to see an actual finish and not have an anticlimactic non-finish 🤷‍♂️

the issue is in other sports mostly we see overtimes because two competitors are evenly matched , here we see overtimes because everyone is incentivized to Greed instead of race with logic for a mid pack finish , like winning is all that matters in the current system, your teams ability to be consistent and run top 10 is worth way less because of the extreme value of a single win. a 25-30th place team shouldn't be getting into the "playoffs" on a single win they are just noncompetitive.

@@tyler7433none of the OTs were caused by mid-pack teams. If anything, those mid-pack teams were the only ones racing clean at the end. 3 OTs were directly/indirectly caused by the sports best driver. If we put a limit on OTs it only incentivizes wrecking someone else (Kevin Harvick) and if we throw it out alltogether we end up losing out on the excitement of a green white checkered. We can take this for what it was and move on, or we can change the sport for the worse.

@@codylyons9729 your proving my point, there is no disincentive for a team that bombs into 1 and ends up 35 if they have win under their belt , heck they can only improve there chances of winning the championship because it might pan out and they get a few boner points. we dont have to change the stupid overtime rules, you have to create a effective disincentive for someone doing stupid stuff in the name of maybe possibly 2% ending up with a win .

Ya we aren't watching overtime between two teams with a tie at the finish line. This is 30+ cars wrecking each other with no chance of a win and changing the race or even ruining it for people who ran a good day at the costs of millions.

What drives me nuts is that this all a knee jerk reaction. Wow this is the first time in years we’ve had 5 and now it’s a problem? Like really changing the rules over a 1 time thing? Now if it happened tons of times and it was way a huge problem maybe but these guys are just crying to cry at this point most of the time it’s 1 or 2 over time attempts maybe 3 at a big track but wow the first time it hits 5 and now it’s a problem??

The 5 green white checkers is why nascar is absolute shit now. How many races actually finish under a long green flag run? Not to many. It’s just like the points system and the playoffs. Absolute crap. I used to be a diehard fan. I’d put stuff on hold to watch the races every weekend. Now I miss them all the time, and just catch the last 10 minutes because I know I’ll see a green white checker finish to the end. There’s no reason to watch the entire 4 hour race anymore.

Talking about idiots in the rear , they seem to be doing better than your driver that gets in an altercation in a team meeting ! Obvious why you are his spotter !!!

He is and with Jon Wood as president he sounds like wants to improve the team. Josh having lack of money and his age on top of lack of good rides open it's best he will get. I sure Harvick himself has talked to Jon Wood and team Penske since Josh is a KHI management client

Sooooo glad Casey's back, not a fan of the remote shows, especially when they cut to Freddy who's sitting too close to the camera, unacceptable for Bret to miss these shows, his opinion is needed every week, somebody get these guy's and girl better camera equipment for the future if we are doing remote broadcasting, it's 2024, good gear isn't that expensive, we don't need Freddy, TJ and Bret in 4K but the clarity needs to improve, good show, Did I say I'm glad Casey's back!

I want to preference this with i don't know anything so this might be dumb. I would like to see the new overtime be you park everyone 7 place back then you green white checker the top 6 and they have one restart to see who wins it. Not sure if the logistics of putting cars on pit road and running a green white checker is safe or if they have time to run them behind the wall. Just throwing something out there because this ending wasnt great. Seeing people lose because of strategy is great, seeing them lose because you moved the goal post is not.

Who cares if millions got wrecked. That is the owners problem and I will bet there is not an owner one that will tell their drivers to back off and just go in circles.

I blame Kevin Harvick for all of this. Ever since he wrecked the field at Talladega while his car was blowing up so that the race would end at the last GWC so he would get a good finish to continue in the chase. After that incident, NASCAR went to unlimited GWCs.
