@@Echo-il3td its both, nascar is just more specific and even more specific would be the series it runs. "stock car" is more general and could cover anything from these to a dirt street stock.

Horizon 5 has a 2jz stock car that you can swap with a racing v8 that sounds pretty similar

One of my favorite cars of the 90's.

The Nascar V8's sound so awesome because they sound like Guitar Riffs.

not only is that the sound of raw american horsepower, its also the sound of history in a way. lets not forget NASCAR was born around the time of Prohibition. so when the bootleggers and rum runners were trying to outrun the feds, they'd race each other sometimes for fun and sometimes for money

And I don't think that's anywhere near the max RPM a modern stock car engine could spin to. There's some madman in New Zealand that has a derestricted Roush Yates NASCAR engine in a Shelby GT500 touring car that revs to something like 11k and is pushing well over 900hp.

@@griffinfaulkner3514 The unrestricted engines used in races (like 2014) were limited to 9800 rpm and around 900-950 horsepower but as you said and hendrick motorsport has said, that these engines could go over 10500 rpm and make over 1300 horsepower if the rules allowed them too!

Man back in the day I lived right up the road from jd mcduffie those days /nights on the dyno where like living @a track ,GREAT stuff

Jeff Gordon ran the 1/4 mile in one of his cars and it ran 10s

@@alfredsnyder4If it was a Sterling Marlin car, then it would be one of Junior Johnson’s fords from 1992, if it’s a Bobby Labonte car, then it’s one of Bill Davis’s Pontiacs from 1993-1994. It’s hard to tell which ones which without looking at the nose of the car.

@@lockandreload stock cars had that name because back in the 1900s, Stock Cars we're not upgraded the biggest amount, only a little tweaks, therefore Stock Cars in the 1900s referred to 'Out Of The Factory', and that name stuck and now in 2021 almost 2022, people still call it Stock Cars.

This was a pre-EFI car, and those spun to about 9500 RPM.

My car sounds just like that 1

There is a reason why turbos aren’t on these. You can still go incredibly fast normally aspirated.
