Exactly, the universe has done it's thing for literally billions of years, while us humans have been trying to figure it out for the past few hundred. We can't explain it all right now

Simple, the furthest reaches of the universe are traveling away from us at faster than light speeds due to expansion of space time and time inverts at those speeds so the galaxies we see are actually in the future. We aren’t looking back in time, we’re looking forward. Now please excuse me as I will be returning to my home planet soon and I’m still trying to decide who to take back with me.
