@@Makeyourselfbig Well, I think He might've meant fossilized microbial life which actually could be there if life existed when Mars had water still. But, even though our rovers aren't detecting any fossils of lifeforms on Mars in the areas they've been deployed at, life could have formed underneath the surface and may be there still, or fossilized evidence is. We may also inevitably find out that there's no fossilized evidence of life deep under the surface of Mars as well, but we don't know that yet. Abiogenesis is the leading theory for life's origin on Earth, and suggests that it started deep under Earth's surface, so that very well could be the case with Mars as well. I don't know what I believe personally, but they're all cool possibilities.

Mars is too small, it was doomed from the start. The real mystery is Venus, that could have been a planet b for us. It's so strange that a planet similar to earth became such an hellscape. I'm not an expert but the weird thing about Venus is that It's stuck in retrograde motion for some reason, a day lasts around 240 earth days, that might have something to do with Venus hellish surface conditions, it's like the force exerted on the planet by the retrograde motion have something to do with the super high atmospheric pressure and temperatures on the planet.

Actually no. Because there is so little atmosphere on Mars, water cannot exist on the surface, which is why they must scrape several centimeters of regalith to search the layers beneath. They have already seen a thin layer of ice crystals under the surface of Mars, but it sublimated the instant the sun hit spot. (Sublimation is the process of a substance that goes from a solid into a gas without first turning into a liquid at its melting point. This is what happens to water in the hyper-thin atmosphere of Mars)

Maybe you can help me about the sky. Some of the images show a bluer sky and on these, NASA always say "This is to simulate light conditions on Earth. The actual colours are..." and they show the dark orange murky skies. My understanding of Mars is that sometimes they are the true colours, because then there is a high level of dust in the atmosphere (either during or just after a dust storm). However, there are times when the planet is largely clear of dust. When we observe Mars though a telescope, we see a bluish haze, especially near the terminator, and over the clouds. My sense is that the real-colour images could indeed approximate the "simulated" ones. The haze (the thin Martian atmosphere is rarely far from saturation) would scatter blue light, and even when the atmosphere is dry as well as clear of dust, wouldn't the sky have some indigo colouring near the horizon? Given that the amount of atmosphere above your head is never going to be more than there would at 70,000ft altitude on Earth, I'd suspect that the sky tapers off to being black if you were to look up.

Don't worry it's not just you, the astronauts on the Moon had the same problem. The horizon distance is the problem. Here are the average distances based on a height of 2 meters above the ground. Earth 6378 km; Mars 3,374 km; The Moon 1,738 km. I'll let you do the metric conversion if you need it.

It’s interesting to see rock formations that probably don’t exist anywhere on earth due to earth’s higher gravity. Some of the martian rock formations look like they would fall apart in earth’s gravity. Other than these fragile formations, it looks a lot like a desert on earth.

I wonder how this water (?) "evaporated" since the average temperature on Mars is -63 C, and in places - 125 C...? Or maybe it was...liquid carbon dioxide or...nitrogen, which constitute the main composition of Mars' atmosphere?

Water ice and carbon dioxide ice ("dry ice") sublimate. When they are at their solid state, they can sit there and remain solid, but pieces of the substance turn right into a gas without going into a liquid phase first.
