    Great point Trevor made…Nas definitely struck a great balance between reminiscing on the past and giving advice for the future. AND he did it in a way that didn’t come off as condescending or preachy, which can be tough to do. He’s really embraced this mentor figure in hip hop and disproved the notion that it’s only a young man’s game

    I grew up listening to Nas. He’s like a sage on the top of a mountain that comes down and gives you knowledge and then goes back on top of the mountain. This was said about him back in the 90s and he still true of him today he’s the gold standard

    Nas is one of my favorite emcees of all time and is hip-hop's greatest storyteller of all time. "Rewind", "It Ain't Hard to Tell", "What Goes Around", "Loco-Motive", "Get Down", "One Mic", "Hate Me Now", "I Can" are songs which Nas literally paints a picture of his hometown and neighborhood with words.
