Nas Daily - The Tale Of A Narcissistic Scumbag

It's not a secret that I have a strong disdain for channels trying too hard to be positive. I couldn't help but be cynical about it. Appealing to the blind pride that most people have in their respective countries is one of the ways to gain traction on KZread. It appealed to the heartstrings of people who depended on this content to feel validated. And as much as I hate to admit it, this type of vapid content that these KZreadrs provide is what makes them so successful in the first place.
Nas Daily got embroiled in a big controversy over in the Philippines in the past week. As he tried so desperately to defend his actions of making profit off of other people's cultures, the voices of dissent gets all the more louder.

    Algorithm found me today. I used to follow his 1-min video when he was 32% through life. But all that changed quickly after I realized he incorporated Nas Academy in Singapore(I am from Singapore) and started offering content creation courses. I instantly knew he was just scheming his way through the social media mud carrying the facade of Mr Positive. Total crap if you asked me.

    lol he's such a hypocritical (and ignorant ) narcisist as well what the hell r u talking about... than man makes videos always and only on veeery surface levels of the places he visits , he comes off as pretentious altough his ignorance is so evident. It seems that he tries to collect countries, but rarely understands the culture of aspects in the present day. in a video he went to Eritrea , and he underlined only the italian architecture... he never brings up history of the countries he's in, also the dude straight up pushes american propaganda, in such a dumb way too. he'll preach countries where human rights are violated saying how the "people and food are amazing!" (only ever says that). yet will make entire videos on how countrues such as North korea or Cuba are fucked up . bruh. he also doesn't care about how a country's culture is actually like, and only about how he's treated. if he gets treated badly in a country he spent 2 days in, God forbid it! he starts trashing it to all his followers. A travel channel actually worth following would be Luisito Comunica and Ruben diaz (lethal crisis)

    (Please read the edit I added at the bottom too, thank you) Honestly, this issue has been on my mind since forever. Us, Malaysians (and might I even go as far as to include the rest of Southeast Asians), have always been taught to view Caucasian people as the superior race - whether it's their beauty, intelligence, or other aspects. A lot of us feel pride whenever a white person take any sort of interest towards our cultures. It's such a toxic mindset but it's so engraved into us that I honestly can't see changes happening anytime soon. Thanks for the video. I hope this will help some people to realize these culture predators' ulterior motive.......money. Edit: I see a lot of people replying that Nas isn't Caucasian but I'd already addressed this in a reply earlier when I first posted this comment so you can read it if you want. Anyway, I want to thank everyone for being civil. Based on the replies, there is obvious division of opinion on this issue so I think we can all agree to disagree.

On the other hand, NAS isn't caucasian :P and is an Arab Israeli ... so anyone who "worship" him is just a mindless fool .. and I doubt if he calls for that attitude at all, especially with him positioning himself as a feel good ambassador (at least when I was watching his video 2 years ago) and trying to be be seen to be inclusive and all.

  • @asuka-ryo

    @asuka-ryo

    @@Jinkypigs Agree to disagree then. I'm just basing this opinion on my own experiences 😅 This is an extremely simple example but I remember when I was way younger, white tourists would walk pass me on the streets and everyone would just stare at them. I'd always thought “White people? Here? They chose Malaysia out of all the other countries?”. Little did I know, they chose our country because it's cheaper to vacation here :/ This situation probably doesn't happen as often now in real life as time goes by but it's still very prevalent online. Right now, there's a wave of fascination towards South Korea's culture - this is what I deem as “worship of culture,” I don't see it as something equal as “our” mentality towards Caucasians. To be honest, I had no clue that he wasn't Caucasian. I saw a man with lightskin who speaks fluent English and just made the assumption. I'm sorry, that's definitely a mindset I have to change. Despite that, my opinion still doesn't change. Again, agree to disagree :)

Maybe among some circle (im looking at you twitterina libtards) but most are just simply welcoming to visitors. Im from pahang and my family do have some 'history' with them brits so I think every situation is different. The presence of these white worshippers isnt that prevalent online and sure is not the case in real life. What does the existence of thousands of white worshippers and anglophiles compared to actual millions that simply does not give a shit and even a smaller fraction that actually prefer to stab these whites in the face rather than mingle with them. So not that big of a deal.

While I don't agree with what western KZreadrs are doing by milking views, nobody is forcing them to watch those kinds of videos. Comparing it to our colonial past that our ancestors had to go through rubs me as a very disrespectful statement. The problem isn't the KZreadrs, it's the general overproudness of SEA citizens that drives these views. Honestly if people here learned to be proud of their own culture without having it be recognized by Europeans or "medunia" then the views from these videos would go down drastically

    I never liked Nas Daily from the start because u get this very fake feeling from him or a weird aura from him. I ignored him and blocked him from my feeds. When Nas Daily came to Vietnam, he was not well received because they thought the content he made in Vietnam was too fake and exaggerated. Many of us Vietnamese are looking forward to the videos foreigners make about Vietnam. and would love to support it. (Of course not as much as other countries in Southeast Asia, because our English is generally quite bad). and many people do not support his political views, and consider him too biased. Therefore, the majority of people do not support his content.

    You're not the only one. I actually don't know this guy cause I'm not that active on social media besides KZread. I actually only know him when I saw his sponsored video in University of the People and the moment that I saw him, I immediately felt off about him like sooner or later he will do something bad idk there's something about him that I sensed is not genuine but I just shrugged off that feeling 'cause I don't know the guy and maybe I'm just being judgemental. And several months later I decided to check on my Facebook and my newsfeed is flooded with the news that Nas Daily allegedly scammed Apo Whang-Od and such. And seeing that, I'm not surprised that he did it, I'm more surprised that I was right about him having this bad vibes. But idk I don't really follow this guy so I might be wrong and idk the full story of things. I just wanted to share, and I guess moral of the story is when you suddenly felt off about someone you might want to consider listening to that 'cause it might actually save your life against these people or situations. I'm not saying to avoid someone completely just 'cause you sensed bad vibes 'cause gut feelings, although accurate most of the time, might be inaccurate sometimes, I'm just saying that whenever you feel it, you should be cautious.

Nas was one of his heroes, but the saying says "never meet your heroes" as he shared how he was disappointed with Nas and his attitude that he was the opposite person as he was in his videos. He experienced so much with his time with Nas' that he didn't disclose as he was afraid that Nas would come for him and he was making a career as a content creator, but for him it was an eyw opening experience for a fan like him. The large pressence of vocal negativity online has led society to a spiral of depression and hatred. So remember, always take time for self care away from the internet.

    @@ozyium5635 do you think he does these "good" things out of his warm empathic heart? These people do it only for views. If these ppl were rally good people, they will BE GOOD when not on camera. Take the camera away and they are complete douchebags.

    As a long time *"Nas Daily"* viewer I slowly realised he was the *"Ellen"* of the internet by beign overly positive through his heavily edited videos profiting off other people's culture and projecting himself as the nicest guy, after all it's another *"Facebook"* guy looking for clicks and revenue so I did expect some fake shit like this

    Same. I will have to admit Nas Daily is so good at manipulating people into believing that he is a grateful, kind person spreading beautiful culture and a very honest person. Now, after looking further into Nas he is a spoiled, hateful person profiting off of beautiful culture while occasionally clickbaiting, exaggerating, or lying about his videos. I also thought he came from a small, probably poor Muslim village and how he turned his life around. Now I know that he came from a wealthy Muslim family in Israel that has always been spoiled.

    I've noticed that he lacks research on some (if not all) of his contents. He has never own up to misinformation and lack of research. Just like with Apo Whang-Od. He has never admitted having lack of understanding and information regarding certain laws when he decided to add the art of tattooing to his academy. Instead, he asked Filipinos to what? Get angry for him because someone has done him wrong? He is indeed become combative. Maybe his way so people would believe him even though his information is wrong.
