They are martin houses which are a type of swallow and said to never land much on the ground and like heights. We have the all over America and with the tall pole it limits predator access. It’s like a small city in there!

I am becoming more and more convinced that shopping trolleys and baskets grow in water, and they get harvested by supermarkets. And another silly comment. The things on poles in the fields were air traffic control towers for the local birds. Of course Michael is teasing you. He's your husband, it's his job!

Hi 👋 great to hear from you and love the questions. There are over 2,500 miles of canal and inland waterways to travel on, think we’ve only scratched the surface. Enough to keep us going for years. Many of the canal have extensive periods of maintenance and repair from October to March so it can be difficult we often use winter to catch up on chores, visit family and friends and take a little winter break. Hi guys, I've finally researched Border Reivers. My grandmother was a direct descendant of a Scottish Border clan, the Armstrong's (this is all I know about her) After researching the name of your narrowboat I now know something of our family history. Thanking you both so very much❤

Hi there, thanks for dropping us a comment and we are so pleased after watching our channel you have done some family research and how interesting. The guy we cruised by on the tow path mentioned that Border Reiver was a 1960's motor racing team, we didn't know that... you learn such interesting facts don't you. Hope you get chance to watch some more of our waterways adventures. J&M x

@@cruisingontheborder Thank you for your reply. This is interesting indeed. So much can be learnt from KZread and those I follow become to feel like family. I discovered you last week and I 'm binge watching(& of course have subscribed. Now following 4 barrowboaters. Think this is enough😅)

@@cruisingontheborder the first I'd heard of the Border Reivers was when I was a young motor racing fan and read a biography of the late great Jim Clark, a driver from the borders who drove for the team Border Reivers before moving on to become world F1 champion with Lotus. I later discovered that they were bandits from the borders, with bit of a Robin Hood mythology.

Hi The Border Reivers actually existed. They were a nasty bunch sadly not a myth. 👍❤️

Hi 👋 and great question 🙏 for asking. We did consider it, you’d need a pilot to take you across the channel. We know a few people who have taken their to France… it’s doable 👍👍

Apologies if this has already been asked but what is the delay between filming and putting on KZread. I think I noticed some daffodils in this episode

Hi and thanks for the comment 👍 we were going to try but really difficult off the back of the boat so near to the prop. It was very obvious so other boaters would very clearly see it. Hope you’re enjoying the channel 💕
