Thirteen years ago, Rhode Island native Ryan Westmoreland was the top prospect of the Boston Red Sox, a 6-foot-3 center fielder. Then he almost lost his life. Only 19 at the time, his baseball career ended when doctors discovered a cavernous malformation in his brain. Today, he’s a student at Northeastern University.

    Ryan popped into my head this morning and I found this video. Glad to see he is doing so well. My oldest is also an Adeline. She's headed to college next year. Enjoy the ride!
