It looks like as if they went back in time and shot with the real criminals and gave us a show. I mean the makeup artists deserve a hats off for their work and how they managed to make the actors look just like their character that they were playing. One of the best shows on Netflix.

The guy who played Don Berna was *incredible* in his accurate portrayal. He not only looks like him, and talks and sounds like him, but he WALKS just like him. When I first watched Narcos, I was wondering why the actor kind of had a funny hitch in his step all the time. Then I saw video footage from a documentary of the real Don Berna and his walking gait was identical. The actor wasn't just limping to limp either, it was the same motion. Really impressive

They don't do it like that. They go through profiles of registered aspiring actors, and of people that have acted on TV commercials and even porno videos, and of course normal TV and cinema. If you want to be a registered actor you can just walk to a casting agency and tell them to register and they will gladly do it.

As far as I understand, that was the name created for Narcos for a ruthless sicario who was meant to embody John Jairo Arias Tascón aka "Pinina" and other sicarios, namely Jhon Jairo Velásquez Vásquez aka "Popeye". Presumably they created the character of Poison to avoid any legal issues with Jhon Jairo Velásquez Vásquez as he was still alive at the time

They did a damn good job with the casting

damn, surprised a lot of the actors look pretty damn close to their real life counter parts.

They way they got the cast members to look so similar to the actual people is so surprising specially with agent Murphy

when Pablo looks more like Einstein than himself

Pablo's mom looks like Dustin Hoffman as Tootsie and Don Berna's character is spot on

His mother on the series looks like Dustin Hoffman on Tootsie

Now that's good casting Especially on La Quica

The Rodriguez brothers actors are also spot on. Just like the Castanos (they don't appear in the video). Limon actor was also an excellent choice.

All in all: They did really well! My favorites where Murphy and Poison.

Who else was shocked that pacho was gay? Lol
