NAOYA INOUE (JAPAN) vs ANTONIO NIEVES (USA) - TKO FIGHT!

Спорт

So guys Naoya Inoue provides us with another dominant performance over Antonio Nieves. The speed in attack, counter punching, combination punching, and bodywork were so impressive to watch from Inoue.
So we are moving ever so closely to the undisputed defense fight for Naoya Inoue against the Puerto Rican star Luis Nery in Japan. Now there are some minor similarities and differences between them
Their last names start with the same letter
Both opponents have a connection to Puerto Rico
And in my opinion, both opponents will lose
One definite difference between Nieves and Nery is that the former is an orthodox boxer and Nery is a southpaw. Inoue of course fights as an orthodox fighter.
So in the fight against Nery, this means that Inoue's backhand will be significantly more important for him to use against Nery than Nieves or any orthodox in general.
The reason for this is that in an orthodox vs Southpaw confrontation, the lead hands of both boxers are immediately drawn into an offensive battle for positioning. So for example, controlling the opponent's lead hand, feinting, and blocking.
Now, while the lead hand is preoccupied and effectively creating a distraction for the opponent, the backhand normally has an open and uncontested channel down the center to strike the opponent. So sometimes, this is why the backhand lands as a surprise.
Also, Inoue obviously has a speed attribute and you can see it in his reflexes and you can see him with his technical movement; so counters, evading, and also in his direct attacks.
Regarding his reflexes, I know he does a lot of reactive work to fit the correct action or reaction to specific stimuli.
Now when it comes to his direct attacks his Jab is released incredibly fast, is imposing enough to place the opponent on the back foot, and normally sets the tone and tempo for the fight.
Now I've seen the way Inoue trains and I am telling you now that it is paramount for boxers to train with a raised back heel so that the lead hand operates with a quick release of propulsion off the back foot...
as opposed to a slower less efficient movement of stepping with the lead foot that is assisted with a push after from the backfoot.
Training with a raised back heel does not imply that you must always move with a raised back heel in the fight.
But it's certainly a skill to develop that grants you access to speed that is unachievable with both feet flat on the floor and a level of agility that improves your overall degrees of freedom in movement.
My friends the mechanics on this is very clear!

Tank will dehydrate to 135 but on fight day will rehydrate another 10 easy. And that's Tank's natural build ( bone, muscle, height punch weight), whereas Inoue has to go maximum to get up to that weight. That's weight bullying. But folks will always demand a higher barrier.... might as well say Inoue is nothing unless he goes up against Tyson Fury. The hypothetical discussion should more be - if Inoue was naturally in Tank's weight class, who would be better.

The American boxing community says that if the Monster wants more notoriety, Inoue has to fight in the USA and fight American fighters. Why? Naoya is the Champ. He calls the shots. If American and non-American fighters want a shot at Inoue, they're going to have to travel to Japan. Isn't that how it works? Contenders have to go to the mountain. Besides, what's the difference whether hopefuls get knocked out in their hometowns or Japan.
