Naomi Campbell On Becoming A Mother & 16 Other Iconic Instagram Photos | British Vogue

Ойын-сауық

It’s been a rollercoaster of a year for Naomi Campbell, from welcoming her first child at the age of 50 to mourning her dear friends André Leon Talley and Virgil Abloh. As she covers the March 2022 issue of British Vogue, the inimitable supermodel takes a trip down memory lane via her Instagram archive. Among the highlights on her much-discussed feed? Her viral deep cleaning routine before flying; her now-legendary fall on the runway at Vivienne Westwood; travelling the world with Kate Moss; and strutting down the runway at Versace with all of the original supers for the house’s spring/summer 2018 presentation.

My dad used to be a decently famous singer back in the day. He fell for my mother and at some point they were expecting me. My mom called me Naomi from the second she found out she was pregnant, not even knowing the gender. Why? My dad was a deep sleeper and my mom struggled to wake him up. One day, Naomi Campbell was on TV so my mom yelled into the bedroom. “Honey, Naomi’s on TV.” He literally jumped up and ran to the TV, so when she found out I was coming she knew what to name me. I love this woman, she’s been my inspiration since I was so little. Gave a tall, mixed skinny child the confidence to bloom. 💜

US Vogue has become classless, senseless and tacky giving covers to all those questionably talented, style’less pop starlettes and the reality tv people. When you drop your standards for who you let in you lose credibility. American Vogue used to be a staple for class. That’s gone now, Anna Wintour (the supposedly all knowing fashion guru who actually dresses quite poorly herself ) has made sure of that by giving covers to people who are not in with the ethos of a Vogue cover. The devil does indeed wear prada, because even tho he is very rich he’s also classless and tasteless. The real ones don’t even have to wear designer brands !

more than an ICON, a Queen, a living LEGEND. I have adored this woman since I can remember, my mother told me who she was when I ran to her with the magazine pointing at her picture gasping, at age 5. One of my favourite treasures was a photo with her wax figure at Madamme Tussauds, I dont have it anymore but i remember it dearly. Love you Naomi!

Naomi’s composure and poise is one of her most defining qualities as a public figure, with infallible communication skills. That said, seeing her tear up holds an impact I’m unable to shake off. Death, to me, is an injustice everyone left living will incur and endure, respectively.

It's never too late to become a mother, darling. There's not a rigth or special time for it; you're just in your auge just right now, a lot of health, a lot of beauty, and more time to overflow with all that love. It's just the beginning of everything. Enjoy. You're at your most dazzling moment.

There's something called the biological clock in women, so we can leave it too late. It's great though that Naomi has the resources to have a baby at 51, the majority of women don't, so for most women planning on being a mum, should start at least early 30s.
