    The reason I am here is because I needed to know how to remove the tires, I am installing some of those puncture proof tube liners they make for mountain bike tires, just cut them down to size and install them front and rear on my D5+, it can't hurt, and will make them virtually puncture proof, or at least a lot harder to puncture. Thanks for the video

  • @wattsinyours

    My video explains pretty thoroughly how to remove the tire but i would advise you to be careful how you put in the liner because it could cause an imbalance in your tires at higer speeds. The reason why the use them in bicycle tires because they go slower and the circumference of the tire is a lot bigger.

  • @thesmokingrooster8791

    @thesmokingrooster8791

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@wattsinyours True, I might have that solved, just have to make sure they are cut so that both end pieces touch but don't overlap or underlap. so if I take a measurement of the circumference of the inside of the tire, cut the liner to specs and use a drop contact cement or a drop of silicone on each end until it sets, so it stays in place while you install the tube. I will try this and get back to you on the stability issues if I have any. Thanks for the warning.

    Thanks for that! The third time I rode my new D4+2.0 I got a flat! Not sure of the cause as yet, and as I'm not where the scooter is I'll have to get a few bits 'n bobs to cover all my options for when I get back to it... It seems an after-market innertube would be a good start given the OEM one is poor quality, some slime, and file would be a good idea!

    Hey man, thank you for making these tutorials, they are very helpful. Would you happen to know if the inner tube size for the d5+ 2.0 is also 10x2.125? Reason I ask is because the outside of the tire on my d5+ 2.0 reads 10x2.50 and I haven't had a chance to take mine apart yet (would make since that the inner tube is supposed to be slightly smaller than the outer, but I'm not sure...). Also, someone wrote a review on these tubes saying they did not work with their d5+ because the "valve nipples are at an angle from plane of tire". From the pics on Amazon it doesn't seem like it the angle would render them incompatible but I guess we'll find out.

    This honestly doesn't look that hard to change compared to the traditional method of using tire levers for a bicycle wheel. Yes there are tools that are needed for the process but at least you don't have to use alot of physical force to get the tire on and off. nice video!

If they are ur a genius 😜 I have bin sliming my tires every 6 months before summer and before winter haven't gotten a flat yet and I have eaten two nails and both times what I did to field repair was with my little emergency bike hand pump added a few extra psi to the tires before pulling out the nail with the pliers of my multi tool and the extra pressure did work to push the slime out quickly sealing the hole I haven't yet to hit a nail it the nail not get stuck in the tire idk if the slime is allso adding extra grab on the nails when they go in but I assume if I didn't have enough pressure in the tube it would not seal so quickly or even at all

    Thanks for your videos. They are helpful. Could you do one on brakes settings (both hardware and "software") and maintenance ? My own D4+ 2.0 can't stand a daily 20 km ride without brake maintenance. Brake pads seem to wear at lightning-speed or screws are loosening. I started using motor brake (P9 set to 1 instead of the factory 0) then P9 to 2 (which is not a more powerful brake, but a motor brake that triggers sooner) but it seems to damage my rear motor or making it heat enough so that it stops running (as if I had pushed the "single/dual" button). Well. I need wise advice on this. I have to tell at 4:41 you unfortunately put the new tube upside down. The valve is heading to the brake disc side. It should be pointing the other side of the wheel. As a result, at 13:30 when you release it after inflating it, the valve smacks down to the wheel when it should have stayed pointing outwards. This tube won't last for sure.

    Thanks for watching and pointing that out. Which i did adjust. So i did do a break adjustment video i cant remember if it was on the d4 or my d5 but either way its in my library and the process is exactly the same. I dont know why your going through your breaks so quick. I do know they don't have a lot of pad on them and are relatively cheap to replace, but you shouldn't go through them that fast. Maybe after a proper adjustment they will last longer. Also make sure that most or all of the pad is gripping on the break rotor. Hopefully this helps. Let me know how it goes. Thanks.

    Maybe if you had one hole in the middle of the tube, but my problem is when i got the flat it messed up the rubber around the innertube valve and was leaking around there. Those tubes you can find really cheap on Amazon for like 10 bucks a pair so really not worth repairing in my opinion.

    @@MarkDavidBlack "secondary" i mean a used one. Also on the speedway just remember my 10 to 20 percent rule. I keep getting different quality, price tubes and it doesn’t seem to make much difference. I even ordered the $40 directly from Nanrobot. I was getting a few weeks out of it for awhile but it got down to a day or two on the last few. I just quit riding. Any ideas you might have as to why I keep getting the flats? I’m gonna try the filing around the valve stem hole that you recommended in this video, but any other ideas? I may not be getting the bolts as tight as you seem to be. Could that be it?
