THAT IS ACTUALLY A REALLY COOL ASSASSINATION IDEA. Imagine he gets an arms dealer as a target, who's selling cutting edge gear to a militant groups, so he has a live demonstration at one of his presentations. One of the methods to kill him is switching his vest with a faulty one, so you can destroy his company and also kill him.

I beat the final boss of a game once with my maxed character (warrior - str build) and thought it'd be funny to go back and see what it'd be like to fight them with no weapon. The first guy charged me saying "Death to the intru-" before I socked him in the face, one-shotting him instantly. Thanks for awakening that memory, that was pleasant.

The armor is extremely impressive, but, no matter how confident I would be in the armor's quality, those stabs are super scary. Dunno if I would have the balls to perform that demo.

If you notice, he is holding both the knife and screwdriver as close to the working part as possible. Which reduces the force you can actually apply. Rapid stabbing also does not allow for you to generate too much force. And that stance where he is leaning forward against shortens the distance his arm can move = less force generated. That still does not make it any less impressive. Even that reduced force would be enough to injure someone ten times over. But they definitely applied bunch of marketing tricks to hype their product. Which imidiately makes you question, if they did not applied some more tricks that you did not notice.

if you work in design you go trough testing so many times it becomes everyday shit. the vests were probably stabbed, cut maybe even shot at a ton before they were even close to being worn by a person

I've heard of some baller ways that people have demonstrated the effectiveness of their inventions: 1) Kevlar Vests - The guy would demo it at police stations by wearing one and shooting himself in the chest with a large revolver. 2) Elevator Emergency breaks - The guy built a 3-story working elevator in the convention hall, raised it up to the top floor, boarded the elevator, and had an assistant take an axe to the main cable. The elevator would fall about 8 inches and stop dead with him safe and sound. 3) This.

For those who don't know, those mechines need to be able to not crack ice by distributing force across a large enough area so it doesn't punch through. The guy had so much faith that he let himself get run over by the mechine then stood back up with not a single injury

Guy who made the safety feature for elevators did the same thing. Got in a demonstration elevator a good distance up, had them cut the wire holding him up, and the thing dropped a few feet before stopping itself.

The baseball bat part is the most impressive. It’s one thing to stop blades from piercing, but to stop blunt force is crazy. Since a baseball bat doesn’t need to stab it only needs to hit, and that vest absorbs it all

That's nuts. I want that body armor, even if it's not bulletproof. It's protection against physical attacks is outstanding, plus you really can't see it, so the vest must be light and offer good mobility to the wearer. I want one.
