Nando’s is Portuguese slash South African fusion restaurant. It was created by two Portuguese men, Fernando and Robert that’s why is called Nando’s because of the founders name also why you see lots of Portuguese named items on the menu. The first restaurant was located in South Africa because the two guys spent time in Africa discovering it’s food. Hope it helps.

My goddaughter was introducing her American fiance to Indian food slowly. After a year she got him to Madras. They visited the USA and he took her to a Chilli thing in Texas boasting how hot it was. She described it as piquant. When they got back to the UK, she ordered him a Phal, nearly killed him.

That’s an excellent point! Indian food here does not mess around!! That level of heat is right up Jordan’s alley. He loves to feel the burn 🔥🔥 I hope your goddaughter got to try other Mexican food while in the states as well! We have mozzarella sticks in the UK too, they originated in Europe in the 14th century ;) Mashed potatoes was first created by an English Cookery writer, Hannah Glasse, in 1747.

Nandos is not a UK based food establishment but a South African based food establishment franchise originally from the South of Johannesburg in the area of Rosettenville! It was originally called Fernando's!

Piri Piri Chicken is from Portugal, Piri Piri sauce is like the Tomato Ketchup to say the UK and/or US.

Next time eat Nandos like a South Africa. It’s all about having a large piece of chicken in your hand with either Peri-peri or Lemon & herb sauce on it. We usually order a quarter chicken each as it is the best value for money. Also some potato wedges with peri- peri salt and perhaps a coleslaw or green salad. Keep it simple and juicy. Ok,ok a wrap will do sometimes but you do not have the sticky fingers to lick afterwards.

We usually go into Nando’s - order a bottle of wine. Starters to share and just kind of chill with mains. Favourite sauce is garlic sauce by far!

My favourite combo is the 1/4 chicken (hot) with extra hot sauce poured over the top, with chips corn on the cob and coleslaw

I can't have a nandos without peritaimer. You have to ask your server for it as it's kept in the kitchen. It's a sweet sticky bbq, not hot.

You missed out on the vusa sauce! If you like heat it's the hottest thing Nando's do it's probably not as hot as what you've had in the US but that being said get your search engine onto Wiltshire Chilli farm or Dr Burnorium's and make some vids 😁😁

Garlic bread is either a baguettes or on a pizza base. You have garlic bread as it is you don’t use dips it isn’t done, if you did it in a restaurant everyone would stare at you.

Not a big fan of Nandos, more Indian food for me...did you know the most popular dish in the UK is Chicken Tikka Masala invented in Dundee Scotland, Fish and Chips is number 2

@@AroundtheWorldandBeck ...next time you're in an Indian restaurant get Jordan to order a Phaal curry if he likes hot curries...it's a British/Indian invention from Birmingham ...he will love it if he likes hot, but this curry might be a step too far for him 👍😋🤯

If you like hot - try getting a phaal from an Indian restaurant - you will never have had that kind of heat!

Nandos’ is not really seen as fast food. It’s always viewed as restaurant eating first and foremost - rather than take away food.

That’s kind of what we thought, but it’s so hard to tell with COVID! Everything has become take away first and foremost in the last year 😞 But good to know, can’t wait to go back and try it in the restaurant for the full experience!!

@@AroundtheWorldandBeck Nando’s isn’t really seen as a fast food place it where you would for your first date, or special occasion birthdays,anniversary’s or if you know people abroad that are coming to U.K.. to visit you. When everything goes back to normal properly in year or to in the U.K..

It's not fast food really. I mean the price tells you that
