The bikers was me and my mate lmfao I was the one in the grey I remember that 2 years ago seeing you 2😂
That’s part when you filmed them two bike Coming down the hill that was me and my mate
Don’t compare, just show us. We will notice the difference.
Spare room bed is a single not a twin
As a kid I spent a lot of time on the two bases
Your video popped up on my feed so it's my first time watching you both. I notice that it was two years ago. Have to say I was... gobsmacked at how derogatory you were and really hope you learned something from the comments.
The Isle Of Man is always worth visiting BUT should not be rushed!
My son is stationed at Lackenheath and we are US citizens, he is just 18. He just arrived 10 days ago, so now he is going through paperwork to get his DL in England. He has temporary accommodations on Lackenheath, but July 8th he will be moved to Mildenhall. Any advice for the Mom of a newbie?? He says he needs a car...does he? Thank you for your informative video, y'all are so cute together and easy to listen to. XOXO Big Texas Mom
Luckily the bases are only about 10 minutes from each other and what one base doesn’t have, the other does. He will most definitely need a car, or share with someone who does. (We have more PCSing videos, some about cars and base hotels.) The bases are kind of in the countryside, so riding bikes or walking can be pretty dangerous. Just keep in mind that everyone stationed at both of these bases are going through the same thing your son is, it makes for quick and strong friendships. Hope you make plans to visit him soon!
I'm sorry, 'what do British women do to get ready, when there's no outlets and the only room that COMES with a mirror doesn't have an outlet to do your hear in?'. The bathroom doesn't come with a mirror in, you buy one and put one in, just like you can for any room of the house, such as a hallway or a bedroom. Oh ye', that room with the bed in, with all your clothes, etc... Now you mention there are sockets near water outlets elsewhere, but those other rooms don't get steamed up and involve you being bear foot and likely naked in them. Two taps is an old thing where the cold tap is potable, drinkable water and the hot water can't be guaranteed to be drinkable as the water as held in a tank in the loft that was open and would empty into the boiler to be heated up. Here's the thing, that thing to the rear left, is a plug, it goes in the hole, just like a bath, think of it as a bath for your hands and face. Washers are in the kitchen because they draw a higher current, like the other devices, the room is set up for higher current appliances plus there is already water inlets and waste water outlets to carry the waste water away. Some, few houses have utility rooms to put these appliances in and so they sit in the kitchen. In some European countries the washing machine is in the bathroom. A lot of what you mention is down to size and costs, size in that our houses are old, many built when America just got independence and that space is at a premium here. Costs as in extra appliances cost money, running them cost money, maintenance of these appliances that may not get used often. Towards the end of the video it really sounds like you're either wanting or expecting the U.K. to just be U.S.A. 2.0. The U.K. isn't the outlier here, it's the U.S.A. like if you want ice, ask for it, 'no drinking fountains, they are everywhere in the United States, WERE NOT THE UNITED STATES want water ask for it, floors - it's America that ground floor is the first floor, extremely few other places do it that way, one of 'one of the few countries that drive on the left (that few being 64, as opposed to 163 that drive on the right), the road conditions aren't great in many places (as many in the U.S.A. aren't either), parking spaces, again, space is at a premium, parking in the U.S. is plentiful, why, because your cities, towns, 'stroads' are geared up for cars, the pedestrian is an afterthought, many places if you're seen walking at the side of the road, people will stop and ask what you are doing. Your base commanding officers need to be told that service personnel stationed in the U.K. should attend a two week induction, because every American that has an account videoing their move to the U.K. has the same questions and irks. I truly and honestly feel that any North American coming to live for any length of time in the U.K. should be paired with a local native Brit
Where is that location
Lemonade without lemon is just like a bathroom without a bath.
Do they still sell Humming Bird feeders ?
The actual meat in a greggs pastry is minimal it is surrounded by disgusting tasting pastry and yet people queue up for this rubbish and yes it is not cheap rubbish 😊
Can US citizens not in the forces use the BX and base for goods or only personnel?
I was stationed at Bentwaters for 4 years and Lakenheath for 4 years. I bought houses off base during both assignments. Made a good profit on both !
This looks so magical, we are planning to go this year ☺️
What about a Spork?
I have a question. What do you know about single pilots, in their late twenties, on how they live? Is there a life style that is really different from the married pilots? Where do they usually live - base housing or off base? Do they bring their POVs or they buy cars in England? If you know such a pilot, I would not mind communicating (email) with him or her. The reason why I am asking is because I am writing a realistic romance story that takes place in England, between a British nurse and an American pilot stationed at RAF Lakenheath.
I thought we Brits could moan but you take the prize. When are you going home?
Complaining about the noise on an Air Base is bonkers. In the UK it is not allowed to wear uniform off camp. It has been that way since the early 1980’s when the IRA were killing Military Personnel. As for targeting Americans. What planet are you on? Zog.
You cut the teabags that's when switched off 😢
Lol u are hilarious lol the uk just does everything better and its affordable and much healthyer also we like class and style over cheap trashy junk
When I was stationed at RAF Fairford in May 2007 to May 2009 , I always had to drive all the way there it took at least three to four hours but it was worth the trip if you was not driving to RAF Alconbury but you would always go to the Burger King and Tacobell on the Lakenheath side. The kabob shops we had in Fairford were just like ordering McDonalds and Burger King. Only difference I was 22 and 23 at the time. They always had very pretty female service clerks who worked the cash register and I remember trying to get with one of them. Unfortunately no cigar but the Commissary is a little bigger. We did buy meats there that we couldn't get at RAF Fairford so it was worth the trip. Over all I remember Lakenheaths fuel station is right by the Commissary so, where Mildenhall had there was perfect within the BX. How many remember the 3rd Air Force driving course we had to undergo before being allowed to drive in Britain. I remember getting that and you felt like you was let loose to explore. I was able to bring my vehicle from the states as some Brits liked it and others hated it. But I was the only single Airman at the time with a truck so I hauled a lot of stuff on the base and for he locals and Airman when people needed help. But I miss it there. It was a once in a lifetime experience. Always will cherish that
The not he. Typo
Planning our next trip 🌍❤️
Ever heard of addapt and overcome ?.
I saw some US style power outlets do they provide 120Volts 60Hz power as well and 240 Volts 50Hz ???
Great Video!!!! i didn't realize there was so much HP things in Edinburgh! ive been to England 3x, and would like to mention the Two librarys in Manchester UK. they are not THE libraries but very close. John Rylands, and Chethams (restricted section)
There was already an Avengers series 1960s & 1970s and I think also movies 1998 in the UK but not the Marvel characters, so was probably a copyright problem
You missed the steak bake
Unlike Britain, in WW2, America didn't experience blockade, rationing & food shortages.Britons bakers had to be inventive with ingredients that wouldn't be considered edible to the young generations today. The tastes, styles & recipes still survive in some of todays baking choices.
This is the first time I've heard the IOM referenced as a country. Interesting and I had to dive into where it is or not. Turns out it's not lol.
Hate hate Hahaha awwwww you 2 are pure dead brilliant as we say in Glasgow
Try putting a plug in !!!
A bit dramatic with the tuna? It's a sandwich? Hard too watch
Greggs is nasty try a real bakery
I was stationed at RAF Moldyhole (Mildenhall). We lived about 15 minutes from base at Kennett Hall. It was a massive manor house that had been divided into apartments.
In Malta we pick strawberries in May. We have a strawberry fair in the village of Mgarr each year.
1st world problems I think guys. Still, although our politicians are bad, the US elected Trump and may do again. We also don’t have school shootings evey week and athough it rains a lot here (as it does in many US cities too) we don’t have earthquakes or hurricanes….. ;-) Oh, and our voltage is double the US so will kill you, so best not to have sockets in the bathrooms me thinks.
If you live to close sometimes the Americans forget to drive on our side of the road ! Hairy to say least ! Very polite Americans more than some brits
Surely the best sausage rolls in the UK are from Marks and Spencer .. you must trythem !!
Hi Guys. Enjoyable video, thank you. The supermarkets closer to London are usually open to 10pm. Some are 24 hour, except Sundays. I think America is not so strict on additives and sadly, farm animal welfare, with food in general, but I do love shopping in supermarkets abroad. Shopped in Manhattan in early 2023, I know it was Manhattan prices, but ouch, I couldn't believe how much food was. I kept sending photos of price stickers home to the UK as no one believed me. Enjoy your time in the UK. 😊
I suppose we must be doing something right, if you're still here after two years.
Thanks for highlighting the Cotswolds. Lots of exciting places to visit
Don’t you just take a bed frame apart before putting it up stairs?
Westvletteren is probably the best beer in the world (and not Carlsberg 😂) but it is almost impossible to buy this beer except if you visit the monastry where the beer is made in Belgium.
I'm British and have been on base at Lakenheath, I've always wondered if the accommodation power supply is 110v or 240v. Is Popeyes still on base? It was the very first time I discovered and tried American "biscuits" with fried chicken and gravy. For any Brits reading this wondering what they are... Imagine a 7 day old (unsweetened) scone and using it to mop up gravy. I was not a fan but it was cool to visit and have a wander around the commissary etc
Wow, cannot believe you didn't do the most pretentious meal deal sandwich in the world... Brie and grape. They are really good but not for everyone :)
Those shower screens on the bath are a pain in the neck. They're a relatively new thing in the UK and I wouldn't bother with one, just use a shower curtain. I never have a bath, just shower, so had my bath taken out and a large shower with sliding doors installed.
I don't understand why you can't do your hair in your bedroom.
you mised out on the salad boxes much nicer than all that bread also sushi for main or snack is good value acording to tesco there more than 3000 meal deal posible options
